Antiques and Faberge Eggs

This was my first real piece of furniture and I've had it for many years. It is signed and dated by the cabinet maker 1880. I bought it from an add in the newspaper in San Diego. The elderly lady said she was a maid in the old Spreckles Sugar Mansion and this piece was from the servants breakfast room. I don't know how true that all is, but it does make a good story.

Everything in the china cabinet belonged to either my mother, grandmother or mother-in-law except the eggs. All these piece have very special meaning to me.

I love these egg plates. They are so ornate and so detailed, and remember Barbra Streisand and her marble egg. My DH gave me all of these. Love them.

These are copies of Faberge Eggs and they each have a surprise inside.

Thanks for stopping by, I look so forward to hearing from all of you and I enjoy following all your blogs. Hugs, Marty

  12. Just had to come back after my second look and ask about the precious child's plate with the alphabet around the edge. Was that your plate as a child? It's wonderful.

  19. Hi Marty,
Thank you for the great directions on how to move the Butterfly Award...I felt bad because I didn't know how to do it. I hope you didn't think I was ungrateful!LOL! It's on my blog now.... not exactly where I wanted it but close enough! I'll have to do it a couple of times to get down....computer savvy is one thing I'm not!LOL! Your Faberge Egg collection is beautiful, like the plates too! I have a Limoges collection that they remind me of with the little surprises inside. I took a Silver Forging jewelry class today, it was pretty fun....made earrings and a pendant. I'll post soon. Have a great rest of the weekend...we have a regular heat wave today of 47 degrees YEAH!
