Chicken Wire Cloche - I've been shopping

When you all participated in the wonderful "Cloche Party" you had so many gorgeous cloches and so many different types of material that they were made out of. I was so fascinated with the wire ones of different types, especially the chicken wire ones. They were all just fabulous. So I've been on a hunt. I did find several online and also directions on how to make the chicken wire ones, but I didn't think I could successfully make one and the prices of the others were way more than I wanted to spend. Then SURPRISE!!! I was shopping at TJMaxx yesterday and look what I found.

A CHICKEN WIRE LANTERN CLOCHE!!! Now this was intended to be used as a lantern, but with the cute little birdie on the top and the fact that it was chicken wire, I just had to take a further look.

The cloche top comes off and you can take the glass hurricane out and then you have the perfect chicken wire cloche, and it was only $16.99. So for all of you out there hunting, run don't walk to the nearest TJMaxx. I am tickled pink with this great find. I can use it as a hurrican lantern and as a decorative cloche. Two for one and you can't beat that.

I've been trying to add to my collection of blue and white and I also found these three goodies. Love the cake plate. I can put my glass cloche on top of this and have another great decorative piece, and I might even really put a cake on it. The little bowl will be a great planter and the candlesticks will be super in a tablescape.

I love the pretty scene on the top of the cakestand. The three of them cost less than $15. I'm trying to be thrifty because I treated myself to something that I've been drooling over for months.

This wonderful Fitz and Floyd soup tureen has been something that I have wanted forever, but at over $300 I really didn't think this was the kind of thing to treat myself to. Then while browsing Ebay, I found a brand new one that was $170 and free shipping. My rational is if I don't buy anything for the next month, then the money kind of evens out, and I really, really like it and want it. So I splurged and it is supposed to arrive today according to the tracking. Now you know you will see a lot of tablescapes using this gorgeous piece. Isn't it just wonderful! (Now I really will try to not shop for the next month, so no tempting me with anything.) lol

Be sure to go by Frills Fluff and Trucks for a fabulous giveaway. A $25 gift card to TJMaxx or Marshalls. Great fun.

  12. OMG Marty, you found the most awesome treasures! I ♥ the tureen & have drooled over it for more months than I can remember but I didn't want to spend that much for it...

Love the blue & white. You're right, your cloche will be so precious on the cake pedestal! Great bird cloche/lantern. I picked one up at Marshall's & looked at it, then put it down... shame on me! Actually I wanted to paint it, but I have too many paint projects going on, so I didn't buy it... ☺ Diane

  13. I have found that often when I shop, I will find something I really want. But I settle for several other things that are cheaper. Then I think and think about that one thing I really wanted. So it pays, I think in the long run, to just go ahead and treat yourself. You are the queen of cloches, and now you have every woman in blogland looking for them left and right. I bet the online companies are wondering why on earth women are suddenly looking so hard for them!

  40. Marti, as you can see from my post I did not make it to TJ Maxx yesterday, I was tied up in the yard. Sometimes I think the pool helps with the growth of our plants out there, as it makes it really muggy some days. More humid than usual. I love working in the garden tho, Moma and Daddy are gardeners and I think they instilled that into Debbie and I. Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by to say hi at COuntry Wings in Phoenix. "Country Hugs," Sherry

  48. Now Marty, if you go play in the sprinklers you let me know, I am coming over girl. I haven't done that myself in years, years, years. You are just to much. I have (7) birdbaths scattered around the yard. I fill them up at least 2 times a day for the birds. They need a place to go for cooling. Lots of times they just stand in the birdbath, I guess cooling off their little feet. If you only had (1) you could do it. The pool sometimes keeps me out of the backyard, as when it gets hot it is so muggy out there with the pool. If on the other hand you are going swimming, it is wonderful. What are your plans for the 4th of July? Going anywhere special? We will have the house full with the kids and grandkids. It is so fun to watch everyone act like a kid. Have a wonderful blessed day today, and stay inside where it is cool. I am going to try and get out to Arrowhead today. That cloche is calling me. "Country Hugs", Sherry

I still haven't made it out to TJ Maxx, I keep getting side tracked with so many things. I am so thrilled you love the bowl with tea towls and cloths. I also have a small bowl that I keep on my sink with my scrubbers and soap in. It is to festive I think. I have a flag one that I am going to put the silverware in for the 4th, along with napkins. They are so useful. Thanks for stopping by. "Country Hugs", Sherry
