I am so thrilled that you've all joined me today for this first "Cloche Party". You all have so amazed me with how creatively you've decorated your cloches and apothecary jars and all the other wonderful containers that you use in your decorating and tablescapes. I can't wait to be inspired by your wonderful creations for this party.

This is a cloche that I found at a yard sale. It is quite tall with a lovely little bird on the top. I put my pretty little white figurine inside and placed a pretty bow on the top. One rose laying on the side of the plate added some extra ambience.

I thought my little lady looked quite proper and would enjoy a bit of tea so I set an afternoon tea up on the coffee table. The tea service is set on a silver tray that is resting on a lace tablerunner. I've used two of my favorite teacups and an old dish with pretty roses on it.

For a different look, I used a stemmed cloche that I have with a few blue flowers and some lovely little birds sitting on a bed of grass. This gives an entirely different look to the tea party.

Here I've used the large bird topped cloche with my little geisha vase and some forsythia inside to change the coffee table again. A few stemmed candle holders, a lovely plate and book totally change the table.

A closeup look at the cloche.

At the same garage sale that I found the large bird cloche, I also found this really small finial topped cloche. I already had a small container of sunflowers on the end table, I placed the cloche on a couple of books and put one large sunflower inside along with a small birdhouse that I found at the $1 store and painted and decorated. This adds more interest to the end table than just the container of flowers.

This is how I had the two cloches decorated when I first got them. They're sitting on the DR buffet.

I moved the stemmed cloche to a skirted end table for another different look. I've added a small pot of ivy and another bird figurine and I have a new look again.

I love how the light makes the flowers and the birds glow under the glass.

The same stemmed cloche was used in a previous tablescape post with just a few roses inside. It made for a very simple centerpiece.

Remember this apothecary jar that I showed you with the apples inside that I've had sitting on top of the fridge, when I decided to change it I came up with a completely different idea.

I used it to create the shell candle holder that I used in this tablescape. Now I am getting all the mileage out of this piece that I can. lol

I have another apothecary jar that I put a little grass in, a small figurine and a few flowers. This is another idea that works well with my end table.

The last idea that I could come up with so far is moving the bird cloche to the DR buffet again, this time it's paired with a small white vase filled with yellow flowers and a lovely little white bell. Both of these pieces came from the $1 store. Gotta love that place. My little white lady figurine looks like she could stroll through the garden.
That's about the extent of my imagination so far, but I think there are dozens of ways these fun containers can be used. So I'm really looking forward to seeing all of your fabulous creations.
I've set up a poll on the sidebar to see if you would like to have more "Cloche Parties". Please vote and let me know what you think.
Thank you so much for participating and thank you for stopping by. I always look forward to your visits.

Be sure to publish your post and then sign in with Mr. Linky below. Thanks again for joining the party.
You really have some great shaped cloche's and I like all your glass jars and Domes. This was a lot of fun an I'm glad you thought of having this party. Your home is just lovely!!
ReplyDeleteMarty, Did you know that your Cloche Party post is posting back on June 14th so it's not your most current post. Just wondering if you knew...
ReplyDeleteHi Marty,
ReplyDeleteI'm in awe!! You really outdid yourself this time! Every single cloche is pretty and unique, I love all the clever ways you changed things, especially with that bird topped one which is my fave! I need to get my post together, although, I'm feeling a little inadequate after seeing all of your lovelies!! Hugs, Cindy
Hi Marty! I love what you have done with all of your cloches! You have so much imagination! I can't believe that someone was willing to part with that bird-topped cloche! It is beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing all of your terrififc ideas with us! And thanks for hosting this wonderful event! Have a great weekend...hugs...Debbie
ReplyDeleteI love your bird topped cloche!! And a garage sale find, to boot.... You have some really nice ideas for using them. I love that you used the shells as filler and topped them w/a candle. And I love the vignette on the skirted table w/the birds, moss, and flowers. I hope that we can do this again. I have more.... Sue
ReplyDeleteMarty, they are all just lovely....! Each one is so sweet and special. I really like your ideas.

Hi Marty, Happy Cloche Party!
ReplyDeleteYou've truly inspired me!
Thank you so much for hosting this lovely party sweet lady. We all appreciate it so very much.
Your cloches and jars are fabulous! Love the elegance and pretty colors you've used throughout. The fruit on your fridge is precious displayed like that! I'll be "borrowing" that one for sure.
Have a blessed evening.
~Enjoy! ~Melissa :)
Inspiration under glass! I love it!
ReplyDeleteMarty, You are really the cloche queen! I love all your finds and the creative ways you use them. You will have to be my inspiration because I just don't have any cloches. My younger daughter has an apothecary jar she uses for all different seasons, but we don't have any pictures! Next time you do this, I will have something to enter I promise. In the meantime I am going to enjoy seeing yours and everyone else's posts. :D Jewel
ReplyDeleteOh, Marty! How beautiful! Everything you've done with your cloches is so elegant! I love it with the tea set and as your centerpiece on your table! How gorgeous! Love your photography too! Excellent. Thank you so much for hosting this fun event!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Thanks for hosting this fun party! I have some apothacary jars with little red apples in them, but have not been happy with the way they look. Now I see I need to mix in some green apples, so cute! Thanks for the inspiration. (a nice way of saying I'm copying you!) :)
ReplyDeleteStrike me speechless ... I am total AWE of your creations. TTFN ~Marydon
ReplyDeleteHi Marty, Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this fun party. I am excited to be doing this one. And I am doubly excited because today I found a vintage wire cloche that was used in Europe for covering mums. Your cloche ideas are wonderful. I loved everyone of them. xo Lynn
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool. I have never heard of a cloche. I'm Hispanic so it's not a word I've learned yet. I love the way you can take that clear glass cloche and put anything in it to change it's look, it all depends on what you want. I have a candle holder in my bathroom currently filled with sea shells because that's the look I was going for. Next I will try some sea glass at the bottom then the sea shells. Thanks for sharing and having a party.
ReplyDeleteMarty - I founded my post. It was so embarassed that it showed up a week early, it was hiding. LOL
ReplyDeleteLove, love all your cloches and cloche-ettes. :-) Also, just wanted to say how proud of you I am for conquering Mr Linky. Not an easy thing to do.
I hope you decide to have more of these parties. Have a great weekend my friend, Barb
