Winter White Cloches & Gmail Alert Big Problems

FIRST THING, SOMEONE HAS BREACHED MY GMAIL ACCOUNT AND IS SENDING EMAILS SAYING I AM IN SCOTLAND AND PLEASE SEND MONEY. THIS IS NOT ME. I CAN'T SIGN IN TO GMAIL, THEY HAVE CHANGED MY PASSWORD. I HAVE NOTIFIED GOOGLE OF THE PROBLEM. PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER ANY OF THESE EMAILS. I DON'T WANT THEM TO TAKE ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION. THEY HAVE MY REAL NAME AND ALL OF MY INFORMATION. PLEASE DISREGARD ANY OF THESE EMAILS. HOPEFULLY WE CAN GET THIS PROBLEM SOLVED SOON. THIS HAS TAKEN ALL MORNING, BUT I HAVE FINALLY SUCCESSFULLY DELETED MY GMAIL ACCOUNT. WHAT A MESS. THANKS FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.

I thought I would try to do a table centerpiece with all of my cloches. I have been so lucky to have several in different sizes and shapes. Love them all. I decided on an all white theme.

I just gathered up a lot of white figurines and started to play. I thought a lace tablerunner was a good starting point.

I have two of these large cloches that I found at GW. I can't imagine why anyone would give these away. I've used one of them on a glass cakestand with two faux magnolia blooms inside and tied a pretty ribbon on the top.

This was my first cloche and I love the pretty little bird on top. I've put one of my lovely ladies inside. She fits perfectly.

I just found this wonderful little swirled glass cloche a few days ago at GW. I placed it on a cut glass bowl turned upside down and placed one of my DT little bells inside.

This wonderful little cloche was made by my dear friend Mary Ellen @ Mary's Meanderings and was a gift when I met her this past fall. One of my dearest treasures. I've placed a little angel bell inside that I got at the DT.

My white artichoke, another sweet little bell and a dove.

My last cloche again came from GW and I've placed it on a white cakestand and inside the last of my white bells.

All super thrifty since most everything came from the GW and the DT.

This was a lot of fun and I do think I will group them together more often.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Don't forget the Winter Cloche Party on Feb. 19th. Hope this gives you a few ideas. See you there.

  2. Hi Marty, I just love all the white! and you're right the lace table runner just sets it all off. Now if you hadn't told me, I would never have thought these bells were anything but fine bisque. It all looks so fresh and pristine.
I'll be at the cloche party, for sure!
    hugs,

  4. Beautiful cloche vignette, Marty.

I am so sorry you are having this problem. It is very frurstrating! It happened to my yahoo account. I just went into my account and deleted the e-mail account, then opened another, with a different password. When it happened to me, they stole all my addresses, then erased them from my account, apparently. There was no way to alert folks on my e-mail list. All but one person were very understanding. I had one comment that could have easily been sent to the e-mail account, for my viewing. Not a nice comment, no diplomacy. I wouldn't do that to someone who had just had something happen that had the potential for identity theft.

I hope you can get this resolved soon, I know how nervewracking something like this is.

  5. Hi Marty, thank you for the post on the cloche's. I guess it was to give people like me an idea how to be creative. I am afraid I have not been able to buy one. I found an American website and they were a good price but here in the UK they are very expensive!! As I said the other day I am hoping to take delivery of a glass cake cover and stand, so I will try and be creative with that.I am not really a hoarder/ collector so I might use fresh flowers or similar!!

I too received one of the emails, but looking at the address I could see it was a spam, so I blocked the address and deleted it!!

Have a great weekend, Jackie in UK.

  9. Marty, I am so sorry. My son just had an account hacked into and it was a royal pain to get straightened out.
Your scape is gorgeous. I love the serenity of the white I have never understood why people would get rid of some of the things they do. But more for us! Hope your day gets better

  17. Oh, Marty, this arrangement is so pretty! I love the white and glass look! Everything is just perfect!
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)
Oh, I forgot! I started getting these emails asking for money and it was from Pat from Backporch Musing and supposedly she was out of the country and needed money to get home. It really wasn't her and I knew it. So I notified her and she took her email address off her blog. I took my email address off of my blog too. I don't know if that helps, but I didn't get anymore of the fake emails.

  18. Oh dear, how terrible to have your email hacked into. Just awful ! Your tablescape is so beautiful ! I am such a fan of white ceramics. 21. Marty,
I got one of those emails this morning too. That's so weird. I am sorry that happened to you and hopefully they can fix it. I just read it and deleted it because it was obvious it was a scam.
    Love the cloches!

  22. Hi Marty, glad you were able to "fix" the spam problem. People that do that just burn me up. I just don't understand what they get out of doing something like that. Why don't they take their smarts and apply it in a useful way? I keep getting this one comment over and over and over from the same person. I can't seem to get rid of it. I guess they get some kind of thrill from doing it.

Your winter white vignette is just stunning!

  24. Those hackers must think we are a bunch of dimwits to think we would believe you would do such a thing as ask complete strangers for money like that. We are all aware of these scammers and are not so easily deceived.

Great post Marty, I love all the white...very elegant.

Glad I actually managed to post a comment today...I am still having trouble commenting when I drop by.

    Warmest hugs,

  26. Beautiful tabletop...love all the white and cloches. As you know, you put me in serious envy with that white artichoke from the first time that I saw it and I have been on the lookout for a set....I found one last weekend at the antique shop and ran straight for it, knocked down at least two other women and maybe even a small child. You gave me the fever, so I have to put some of the blame for my rude behavior on your shoulders. (Smile)

  31. Hi Marty. Oh sorry that you were hacked, my friend! I just went to my email address that I have for my blog and I had a bunch of emails telling me that I won 10 million dollars and many that said I won a Mercedes Benz. So I took my email button off of my blog. How scary.

  32. I'm so sorry that someone messed with your email account. Don't you just wish you were traveling Scotland right now? All of your cloches are sooo beautiful. I can't imagine why anyone would donate their cloche to a thrift store. But lucky for you! Isn't it amazing how a little GW & DT can look like a million bucks! Mmm, that bundt cake from your previous post looks yummy. I would love to visit with you and admire your decorating and thrifty talents. Rosie

  34. Marty-You know I love all this white! I have just been trying to email you before I saw this post. I got it too--I was pretty sure you weren't stuck in Scotland, but IF you are, you have the force of blogland behind you :) I could just send you the check a barrister in India wants to mail me :)

  35. I love all your cloches and how you have displayed them and use them to display your other beautiful items.

Sorry to hear you are having hacker issues. I have someone posting comments in old posts in Chinese under anonymous. I don't know what it says, but I've been deleting them.

BTW, I think your cloche with the swirl is a Princess House hanging candle holder. I received one as a gift about 5 years ago. I hung it on my back porch, but the metal part rusted. The cloche part hung in a ring with three places where 3 chains hung down from a hook in the ceiling.

  36. What a wonderful look Marty!! It really is so very lovely! I wish I had a great vocabulary to come up with something creative to say but alas, it's just ol plain me who really loves it!

I got that email- I hope this doesn't do your computer or anything any kind of damage. I knew the minute I read it it was spam-why do the go to such lengths to deceive?

  38. Thanks Marty for your sweet words. I did get one of those emails too -- but I had gotten another one earlier and knew it just oozed "SCAM". I did learn from the comments to take my email address off my profile -- I hope no further damage has been done -- those sorts of thisng are very unsettling.
