Met. Monday - Patio Fluffing

Another fun party hosted by Susan @ Between Naps On The Porch. Be sure to visit her for tons of eye candy and inspiration.

Time to clean off the patio and try to make it a fun place to be. Since the patio is right off the familyroom, I wanted to tie the two spaces together with similar colors and decorations.

I brought the same decor outside by making coordinating pillows to the ones in the family room and adding a new rug.

Walls, windows and furniture all got a good washing down.

Since I'm using some wicker in the familyroom, I wanted something to center the table and not a cloth. This is 4 inexpensive placemats that I've taped together on the back and it makes a perfect centerpiece. I've topped it with a glass and iron hurricane and of course the 2 lanterns for the bugs.

Some pillows that coordinate with the inside for the little bench on the other side of the patio and a new rug. The rug was a bargain at $40 on sale for a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.

Now it feels like an extension of the inside. Time for a glass of tea and just enjoy.

Be sure to stop back by for Table Top Tuesday. A Prof. Stager redid my kitchen 3 different ways. Really fun. Hope to see you then.

  1. Hi Marty
I just came for a break from the yard. You have given me some inspiration for our patio remodel. I replanted all the pots that I lost in the freeze yesterday. And, today we(H) are washing and cleaning everything.
I am so glad I looked to see if there was any new blog activity.

Your patio area looks SO inviting! I love the way the big potted plants give it that tropical feeling and the wicker placemats do as well (neat idea to tape them together). I really love that hurricane lamp, too!

    Happy Sunday! :-)

  16. This is so beautiful. I see yours and other patios where you can dine outside and enjoy it so much. We just aren't able to do that here in West Texas. So hot and windy and buggy that it isn't worth even trying.
I love how you brought your inside colors out to your patio. It looks fabulous and you're so smart about the placemats...a great idea.

  21. Very inviting looking patio! I like the way you taped the placemats together. Do you get to use it during summer, or is it too hot? It's usually too hot to use our lanai during the summer months here in FL. We've had such a cold winter we weren't able to use it as much as we usually do, and our spring has also been chilly and windy :-(

  33. What a gorgeous space Marty, I love it. What I'd give to have a patio. I'm living for the moment in an apartment, with only a small deck that isn't private at all. I'm longing for the day to have a small house of my own, with some sort of space outdoors to enjoy as an extension of my home. ♥
