22nd Table Top Tuesday - Clock & Finials

Thanks so much for joining the 22nd Table Top Tuesday. I am having so much fun. You guys are the most creative people in the whole world, and I always get such wonderful inspiration from all of your vignettes.

I am still trying to simplify and not crowd every single surface with a ton of things. The china cabinet top needed some work.

This is so much better. Less is more right?

A collection of finials and a clock is more than enough, especially since I have so much in the china cabinet.

I've had all of these finials for years. All of them came from thrift stores at different times. I like all the different shapes and finishes.

Love my gorgeous mantel clock that I inherited from my mother's collection.

Much cleaner looking. I am trying so hard to pare down. lol (Sure couldn't tell from the look of what all's inside the china cabinet.) lol

Thanks so much for stopping by, I can't wait to see all of your wonderful vignettes and be inspired.

  11. Hi Marty, Although I am in the middle of packing up my house for a move I had to join in for TT. I miss being part of the fun each week and can't wait until I am moved and settled in the new house. Your vignette on the cabinet looks perfect, you always know just when enough is enough.
I hope you have a wonderful week and thank you for being such a great host!

  12. Yes, I agree that, sometimes, less is best. I am doing the same thing as you....trying to clear out and pare down. I tend to get too much STUFF out and then, all at once, I walk thru a room and it seems so cluttered to me. I stip things down and, before I know it, I add THIS or THAT and first thing I know, it's too dang much again! *sigh.....

  13. I agree that less is more -- but more is more, too (sometimes)! That's where your decorating skills shows up and why I love to look at your vignettes -- you know just when to add or take away. And more examples (more, more, more) are always welcome! Annie

  20. I think it looks really good. I'm doing the same thing -- paring down a bit -- too many bits and bobs (but if they are beloved . . .)

I love what you did with the top of the china cabinet (and inside -- that deserves to be full -- isn't that what china cabinets are for?)

  23. Hi Marty!

Oh, I do think I like it better now, not that I didn't like it before. LOL But, now with a finial collection together, you notice them more and the clock stands on it's own. Everytime I see this cabinet, I just drool! LOL

thank you for hosting and have a wonderful day!

thanks so much for voting for my arbor project at the DIY Club showdown!!

Did I tell you that it looks like God is opening the doors for us to open a food and clothing pantry in Aguilar? We are really excited about it!

Was over at Ceekays and she went to a fantastic little shop- we might have to put that on our list of must go places the next time I'm there! (I know I know I keep saying I'm coming - just don't know when the next time is!)
