Susan's 100th Tablescape Thurs. Party

Today is the 100th Tablescape Thursday hosted by the gracious Susan @ Between Naps On The Porch. Be sure to stop by and see all the gorgeous tablescapes and tell her congratulations on reaching such a fabulous milestone.

I have been so busy that I've hardly had time to breath ( vacation and then company for the last 3 weeks, and I loved every minute of it), but I really didn't want to miss Susan's party, so I cheated and just used things within reach and elements I've used many times.

It was suggested that we do a tablescape outdoors, but at 110 to 118 I just couldn't even be out there for a few minutes. So I just brought a little of the backyard inside. Some sunflowers and a little birdhouse. (Even all the birds would love to be inside with the AC.) Roosters remind me of outside too, so I grabbed those.

A yellow and white check tablecloth and black vinyl placemats continue the outdoor theme.

I placed the rooster finale on one of my cabbage bowls turned upside down. It fit perfectly and gave it some height. The small one I placed on the kitchen scale

The little birdhouse tucked in next to the sunflowers and a little ivy tie the arrangement together. I used several of the small bowls from the Big Lots dish set to hold small candles.

My happy big fat one.

The rooster final I found at Ross. Love it. The little birdhouse is from Dollar Tree.

The little rooster napkin rings I won on Ebay, and napkins from GW.

The dinner plate is Haystack by Royal Stafford.

The salad plate is Friendly Village by Johnson Bros. and each plate has a different scene.

The thumbnail goblets are from GW.

Just a little hit of the outdoors brought inside.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I always look forward to your visits.

  1. Oh Marty, what an awesome tablescape! I love the striking yellow and black together, so classy! Your dinner plates by Royal Stafford, there is not a word to describe how much I love them! They are just exquisite! The same thing about your salad plates, just gorgeous! Your table would just look pretty and really lovely sitting in my home! :):)

  6. Marty, YOur roosters know how handsome they are! They are strutting all around your table! This is a happy and sunny table! I love the color scheme, black and white with yellow! A winner!

You were smart to create an indoor tablescape! It almost killed me yesterday setting up mine. It was close to 100 degrees, horribly humid and I had to take it down and set it up again because of a big thunderstorm! Yours looks so fesh and cool and old world french!

YOur scale is a fabulous addition to the table. I am on the lookout for one myself. And I have those exact black transferware plates. Aren't they just gorgeous! And you used them perfectly... in a french theme!

Well my friend, you certainly have a table worth crowing about!

  10. Happy 100th week of TT to you, Marty! I know the feeling of being rushed but wanting to participate in this special occasion! You did an amazing job for "throwing it together" and creating it in indoors! The black, white and yellow is a terrific colour combo! I really like how you varied the height of your different roosters, especially how creative you were by using a bowl upside down - that really looks like part of the rooster finial piece! Great 'scape!

  11. Just beautiful! I adore black & white and the pops of yellow make everything look bright and happy. I would have never thought to place the rooster finial on the bowl, upside down, like you did. I hope you're staying cool ~ sounds like you have the horrid heat like we do.

  49. Wow, such a cute, fun table for the 100 TT celebration. I love how you brought the outdoors in. I tell ya, those roosters are struttin' there stuff down the center of your tablescape. You really accomplished the yellow with the black and white - love those pairings. All of the elements you brought together are harmonious. If you didn't indicate that you elevated the rooster on a bowl, I wouldn't have been the wiser, just perfect together.

    All the Best,

    Requi
