When I redid the wall in my breakfast room a while back, it had a great fall look to it, then I got busy and just didn't finish things off, so I thought I should do something for the table. I love this rooster planter that came from GW, but it really needed a new arrangement. The old one still had tulips in it. So I dug through the last of my fall florals and created a new look.

It's really just a potpourri of fall stems, some feathers and a new fall colored ribbon. I placed it on a straw mat along with a couple of DT pumpkins from last year.

I thought a candle would be nice for a little ambiance. To make sure it would be stable, I used an ice pick to put a hole in the bottom of the candle and inserted a long skewer into it and then pushed the skewer into the floral foam to hold it securly in place.

A couple of fall leaves and one more sunflower beside it finished off the arrangement. Now it all ties into the wall arrangement and looks more like fall.

Also I want to let you know that Shelia @ Note Songs is having a Heart Of The Home party. This is where we all get to show off our kitchens. Click on the button on my sidebar and find out all the details and join in all the fun.
Thanks so much for stopping by, I always appreciate your visits.
beautiful images dear Marty!
ReplyDeleteYour fall centerpiece looks great Marty! I love your DT pumpkins. Each year it takes me longer and longer to acknowledge fall let alone decorate for it. By the time I get around to it this year, it will be almost time to start decorating for Christmas!

Good Morning Marty Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful Fall share this morning. Yes I would definitely say it is Fall at A Stroll Thru Life. I love the rooster, he is so darn festive and proud sitting there with his new arrangement.
I spy with my eye that little half basket on the wall with beautiful hydrangeas in it. I remember when you found it, you said it would be going there, and it looks so beautiful Marty. I just love it.
Thank you for sharing with me this morning. I so love it when you do.
Have a gorgeous Wednesday dear friend. Many hugs and so much love, Sherry
Super arrangement. Love the ribbon and I have my DT pumpkins out already. Candles.... so expensive, but so perfect. I found some at Joanne's 40% off that made me feel not so guilty. Is that why it is called a guilty pleasure?
ReplyDeleteMore beautifulness, Marty! Love it all.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Love, love, love your fallish decor!! Each day it gets more beautiful. You never seem to run out of ideas...I need you here!

ReplyDeleteI wanted to let you know Back Porch Musings is at Typepad now. There is an option to post comments via open ID. Back Porch Musings at blogspot disappeared sometime yesterday afternoon. I've wanted to try something different for awhile, so decided to take this opportunity to move. The new address is http://backporchmusings.typepad.com
I hope you will stop by over there and also, perhaps, let folks know I didn't just drop off the earth.
Thanks!:-)

Hi Marty! You are always so inspiring and I have to tell you that one of the places I struggle the most to decorate in my home is my formal dining room table. Since following your blog I have been trying new things and thinking outside of the box so thank you for helping me out! :-)

ReplyDeleteHi Marty! I've been away from blogging for a while now but i'm so glad to be back and so lucky that I came to visit your blog. I love your fall decorations. And to be honest, i'm gonna have to visit all of your other posts because I always enjoy your decor.:)

Just as I have come to expect, it looks great! What I really like is the whiteness of that rooster with all the fall colors around it. It's truly a four season bird, and the possibilities are endless, especially with your creative eye!
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to see all the fall decorations. Can't believe you got the rooster from GW! And I always love a look at that famous old painting on the wall.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great idea using the straw mat to add a bit more "fall" to the look. Love that new ribbon. Everything looks very pretty.
ReplyDeleteI think I have some ceramic punkins similar to that...I need to dig them out. I forgot how pretty they are!
ReplyDeleteAnd the picture of the man praying for his bread hung in my gram's house. I inherited it when she passed. Such a beautiful piece.
That's gorgeous, Marty! I love the newer white ceramic pumpkins, etc. that are popular now! Very chic!
ReplyDeleteI love the plaid ribbon along with everything thing else, I just had to put my 2 cents worth in to say how beautiful these pictures are...you need a magazine all to yourself!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your nice comments...I loved going to old time Home Interior parties when I was first married...I learn so many decorating tips from the sales women on displays, balance, light, greenery, etc. I love to see what others do too...you always have beautiful displays!
ReplyDeleteJust look what your delicate little talented fingers have done once again. You always know just exactly the right thing to put here or there...it just takes a good eye I think. Lovely, Marty!
ReplyDeleteMarty, thats a simple and serene but oh so inviting vignette on your table. well done indeed..

ReplyDeleteMarty, it looks perfect for the fall season. Looking forward to your party tomorow. ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteMarty, I'm amazed by your creativity! I would join in but the kitchen in the house in which we are temporarily living is not really photo worthy. My previous home would have fit in so well. But such is life.
ReplyDeleteI wrote a blog post on Heart Choices this morning about how thankful I am for blogging. I created a photo collage and included your photo too. I wish I could have attended more of the AZ blogger get togethers but maybe in the future I will.
Love and hugs,
Debbie
