Well no matter how much I have been Wishing, Hoping, Praying(remember that song?), it is still hot summer here. So I just gave in and did a bright summer tablescape.
I found these placemats at a garage sale last week, so why not play with them. Just gather a bunch of blue and yellow and I'm all set.

A couple of vases, some grass and yellow sunflowers look bright and cheery. The tall vase came from Ross and the shorter one I found at Hobby Lobby, both on sale.

Some candle sticks from GW and a rooster from HL 50% off and garage sale candles.

I love sassy roosters and this one definitely has attitude.

I layered the matching napkin to the placemat with a yellow one for extra color. I am using my Horchow flatware again since it takes on a yellow hue in the light.

The dark blue goblet came from GW and the blue stem from the Dollar Tree.

The salad plate is Buttercup Federalist Ironstone from GW.

The plates are Block Avignon also from the GW.

The chargers are Roscher from Home Goods.

I guess if I can't change the weather, I might as well enjoy it. Yummy blue and yellow sunshine.

Being that the blue and yellow combination is my favorite this post puts me in heaven.

Love the colors and your pictures are just fabulous! I love how big and clear they are~
ReplyDeleteVery Pretty - I really like that shade of blue with yellow. Nice finds - You did good.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your holiday weekend.
Oh Marty, this one's a winner! It may fall into the category of "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em," regarding summer -- but it's GORGEOUS.
ReplyDeleteYou have such wonderful blue and white china, of all sorts! And yellow with it? what could be better?
Love it all -- and I have to ask, how does that Horchow flatware stand up? It's so pretty and I am so tempted when they have their big sales -- how does it hold up in the dishwasher?
Thanks for this table that looks like it hopped right out of Monet's garden!
Cass
That is one sassy rooster!
ReplyDeleteYour blue and white are so clean and fresh and nothing compliments blue like the yellow. What a bright and pretty table.
You got me on blue and white ceramics. I am a fan, like the rest of the planet and do not care. I collect flow blue, staffordshire, delft, and Mexican ceramics. It is all over my house. I buy inexpensive pieces to fill in the collection, because I only buy one or two nice pieces per year. This is so helpful for me for my fill-ins, which are slowly being handed over to my girls for 1st apartments.
ReplyDeleteThank You,
Liz
Yes you are right, blue and yellow is a yummy combo. Now if that little rooster comes up missing, do not come looking for me...so cute! Beautiful table scape Marty. Enjoy your holiday weekend. Debbie
ReplyDeleteAll that beautiful blue, white and yellow just sings to me! So pretty. And don't you just love how the smallest thing can "create a life of it's own" such as your recent placemat finds! The same thing happen to me for my tablescape this week.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend Marty!
Beautiful! I love those chargers!
ReplyDeleteLove blue and yellow together. I also especially like your plates.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Susan
