5 Minute Table & AZ. Blogger Coffee

First, just a reminder that the Arizona Bloggers are having a Coffee Get-together this coming Saturday at 2:30 on the 22nd at Paradise Bakery at 99th Ave. and Mc Dowell.  Mary Ellen @ Mary's Meanderings is coming in from Colorado and how fun for everyone to get together and to meet her.  Email me if you are able to make it at astrollthrulife@live.com.  Hope to see you there.

One of my greatest thrills is when one of the grandson's calls and says they're going to drop in.  I just love it and of course as any grandma does, I always want to feed them.  Now boys don't really like fancy, so I just grabbed a few things and set the table really simple and masculine.

The small pot of ivy was on the kitchen counter along with the acorn and the candlesticks were on the coffee table.  They make a perfect simple centerpiece for guys.

Placemats, dishes and linens all have a masculine feel.

Tortise and wicker chargers with my everyday Pfaltzgraph dishes and a checked napkin.

These cute placemats with the pocket and tab seemed the perfect ones to use.

We all love milk for dinner so the matching Pfaltzgraph tumblers are perfect.

Super simple and still pretty for a wonderful time with the grandson.

Don't make it fancy, just make it fun and enjoy the company.  If you look around you can pull all kinds of things together for an inviting tablescape.

I am linking to Susan @ Between Naps On The Porch for Tablescape Thursday.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I always look forward to your visits.

I have a tendency to be terrible frou frou when setting tables - I think besides my white plates everything else has roses on them!

  30. Marty, where do I start? This is adorable! I love those placemats with that cute little pocket and button... love the texture, too... and the chargers! Those chargers are just the best. I'm with Debbie, they make the table perfect, and then they coordinate so well with the dishes and glassware. I'm sure your grandson appreciate all the effort you went through for him. It's masculine, yet I would love to dine with you there.

    Happy Tablescape Thursday to you...

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  35. You have so many comments on this lovely post that you'll probably never read this far but, I have to tell you that this table is stunning. It's so nice to see something masculine. My husband would go for this in a big way. In fact, I think he still has this pattern of Pfaltzgraff that has been packed away now for nearly 16 years. It would thrill him to no end to get reacquainted with it in such fine fashion. May I ask where you got the lovely chargers? They really make the place setting, I think. I really would like to get a set of these (or something similar) and then surprise him by unpacking his dishes and setting up a table like this. Thanks so much for the inspiration, you've made my day. His birthday is Sunday and we're snowed in at the moment, but any charger help would be most appreciated and as quickly as possible. The placemats with the pockets are also wonderful as is that giant acorn.

I'm now following you and, OH! The ezine! Wonderful! Are there more issues? (Can you tell I'm excited?!)
