Counting My Blessings

When you live long enough to be a great-grandmother, there are so many sweet memories.  Yesterday was a very special day, filled with the sweetest kind of memories.  My oldest grandson called and said that he and his son (my great-grandson) were going to drive over.  They live about an hour away.  I asked if they could stay for dinner.  Of course was the reply.

I just had to stop and thank the Lord for such a wonderful and loving family.  The afternoon was filled with tons of laughter and of course a lot of watching the X-Games.  I loved every minute.

My grandson on the left, then my great-grandson and my youngest son.  Life is good and I am sooooooooo BLESSED.

Dinner was really simple, just what the great-grand would like.

Hamburgers
Chips
Macaroni Salad
Ranch Beans

The best treat of all was we made shakes in my old Malt Machine that was in my parents soda fountain when I was little.

I am fascinated by the old plug too.

A fabulous day and such a sweet Blessing from the Lord.  I hope all of you have a Blessed day and Count your Blessing too.

    We were so grateful!!!

  6. I'm so happy for you that some of your family lives in driving distance and can come visit. Two of my boys now live in Colorado and we do most of our "visiting" on skype. I adore that milk shake maker...having you make the great-grandson milk shakes from it will be a great memory for him.

  13. What a wonderful day. I am taking my granddaughter to visit my parents in the morning. She and her great-grandma have quite a bond, even though my mom really isn't able to talk to her. Love needs no voice.

  14. Oh Marty, how wonderful for you to have your family that close by. Why, one hour is nothing compared to how far my grand kids are. At least we are on the same coast now.

That dinner was perfect... all the food they probably like best. That old milkshake mixer must be chock full of good memories.

  21. Hi Marty! Oh, yes, ma'am, a blessing indeed! You have some handsome young men sitting on your sofa! Sounds like one of my favorite dinners and that milk shaker ( I know it has a name, but I don't know what to call it ). That is an awesome machine! You'll have to tell us about your parent's soda counter (again, I don't know what it's called) :)
    Be a sweetie,

  29. Marty that's wonderful. We are truly blessed to have our families. We spent the weekend moving my grandson back to college, this year in his own apartment instead of the dorm. He was so excited. We worked so hard, but he is all "fixed up" with everything he could need. Of course my little four year old grand daughter helped us a lot with the cleaning. She loves to mop and wipe off furniture. :)

May we both have many more blessings of our loving families.

    We're tired, but it's a "good" tired!

    Blessings,
    Kathy
