Valentine Party with Laurie

Yeah, it is party time and Laurie is having a super get together.  So be sure to hustle on over to

Bargain Hunting and Chatting with Laurie

                                                                and join all the fun.

Valentine's is not something we usually celebrate around here.  Sometimes we remember to give each other a card, but not always.  I never decorate for this holiday, but I wanted to join Laurie since she always throws such a fabulous party, so I did a teeny-tiny little addition to the dining table.

Candy is perfect for Valentine's.  (Don't tell anyone, but these are candles I found last year at the DT)  I think these look so pretty so I thought I would pull out my silver bon-bon tray and add it to the vignette.

A little coffee and dessert station for DH and I.

Maybe I will surprise him and buy a really great card and get some real candy.  I havn't done that in years.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I always look forward to your visits.

  7. The candles look so real! We dont' do big things for Valentine's Day, but we generally do something special for each other. I think your husband would be really surprised if you bought him candy and he wasn't expecting it! Go for it!

  13. I don't ever decorate for V-day either. We do exchange gifts of candy or something to each other though. Our wedding anniversay is in March, so we usually celebrate more on that day. Your candies look cute.

  22. The year old candy is hilarious! We don't really "do" Valentine's Day either, but I am thinking of making a dish for dinner that my husband has been wanting for a while...not me, a real meal. ;)

  27. I never would have guessed that those were candies, Marty! Shhhhh...don't tell!
Your silver is so pretty, gathered together like that & displayed so artfully. You truly have a talent for tabletop decorating. So often, I have to move my things over to the window, just to have some decent light to photograph in. We've had a gloomy week here.

Valentines Day is our anniversary, so we go all out around here. LOL I hope you & your sweet hubby have a nice, quiet Lovers Day!

    fondly,

  28. Hi Marty...

Simply exquisite, dear friend! Well...you know how I love silver so your Valentine silver tablescape just tickles my fancy! Hehe! Everything looks sooo pretty! I would have never guessed the Valentine candies to be candles...love that! I don't think our local DT carried those or I missed them. I'm so glad that you did a Valentine vignette for Laurie's party...what a treat! Thanks for sharing it with us!

I also wanted to thank you for your sweet condolances and prayers, dear friend! They mean the world to me!

    Happy Valentine's Day!

  30. What a lovely setting for Valentine's Day..no, not everyone loves to decorate for all the season's..I will let you in on my secret..Valentine's Day is not my favorite at all. Everyone thinks it is, but I have a love for Valentine Vintage Cards and not all the rest that goes with it..I Love Easter the best!
So I guess we just have to get through with enjoying everyone's love for Valentine's Day...
    Have a great one..
