Plates, Love Them On The Wall

I know we all do it, but hanging plates on the wall is almost addictive.  Once you hang a few, you just want to hang more.

I live in a house with very little wall space.  Windows everywhere, and in the kitchen there are no walls at all.  Just tiny slivers at the end of the cabinets, so when I found this plate rack at GW for $1.99, I knew it would fit on one of those small slivers of space.

This small section of cabinet next to the fridge is where I have the coffee pot and the malt machine.  Perfect spot for those two and the cabinet above holds the coffee, cups and sugars.  Plus it has one of those small slivers of wall that could use a little decor.

The plate rack works perfectly.  I placed two plates in each slot.  Love those little pig and rooster plates, they add so much wonderful color.

Then once I got started, I just couldn't quit.  See the side of the cabinet.  Well, of course it got some plates too.

More roosters.  Such fun colors and the pattern is so cheerful.  Fun addition to the cabinet.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I always look forward to your visits.

  1. Plates are a great idea for a small wall space. They look fab and the palate hanger on the wall is a great one. I don't have any wall left to decorate either.

Love your blog Marty and your kindness

  3. Yep, I know what you mean. Its hard to stop. But I love how they can add a pop a color, and I do not like a room that is all prints and mirrors. Plates break up the artwork, if that makes sense. Plus, I just love them! LOL

  4. Perfect spot, Marty! I have a spot like that, too, and was going to put something there but I'm so afraid hubby will open the cabinet too forcefully and hit into whatever I put there. So for now it remains empty.

  27. I love decorating with plates too, Marty. You've done a great job with yours! My daughter used to give me such a hard time when I hung plates on the wall above my bed. As a teenager, she thought the only place for plates that would be worse is the bathroom. Kids...gotta love 'em!
