Front Porch Cleaned and Fluffed

Time to really clean up the front porch again.  Living in Arizona, I reserve the lawn for the backyard and have desert landscaping in the front.  Last week I finally got around to giving the front a good cleaning again.  Such an ongoing project.  I hosed off the front of the house, cleaned windows and really cleaned the porch.  I love it when it looks all fresh and dust free even if it only lasts about 10 minutes. lol   We have farms about 1/2 mile away from us and they are constantly plowing and planting something.  A lot of dust.

Nothing new, I redid the porch rockers and made the cushions last year, they have held up pretty good.

A view to the front door.

The wreath got a little redo too.

I love the outdoor fabrics.  Just hose them off and they look good as new.

I have some of the strangest little frogs.  This one fits the front patio perfectly with his green color.  I showed you the huge one in the back yard earlier this week.

The garden bench is just the perfect size for a couple of glasses of iced tea.  This is the Big Lots one that I painted.

This is a pic from last year to show what it looked like when I bought it.  Just plain white.

I used these two colors of spray paint, some stain and some clear to transform it.

The light aqua at the bottom and a dark green at the top.

Then I sponged some stain all over the top green and down into the aqua a little.  I finished it off with 2 coats of the clear.

I like the finished look.  It adds just the right amount of color to the porch.  I was so happy to find this garden stool, they are usually so expensive, and this was only $30.  I think painting it made it look super expensive.

Just about time to think of fall and what I am going to do to spruce it up.

I am joining Kelly @ Kelly's Korner for Show Us Your Porches.

  3. My front porch is so small, Marty, that I can just walk past and spruce it up! : ) I actually did start and got a couple of ferns and some pansies for our little table. I waiting for May though before I get any other flowers in. I'd like to get some kind of little stand and do a small shallow tray with some annuals and plant some around the condo, too. I like to sit out at the table and read my book, so I'd like it to look pretty, too. That stool looks so great with your pots ~ definitely the right decision to paint it!

  30. Oops! How strange! Everytime I begin to type it suddenly disappears..NO idea why.
Your front looks wonderful ..fresh and inviting. The best part is the froggy..I buy those every time I get a chance and as with everything (including children) I overdo! Froggies are beginning to show up ..perhaps a wee too much? Like I said I tend to overdo. I think that is why I love coming to visit you. Everything is neat and orderly and so clean and fresh looking. Imagine..NO grass to mow. How Patient Husband would love that!
My grass in the back has just been fed for the the third time and ..is looking lush and thick. FINALLY! Doing well and we have tiny peaches..yep..I am overjoyed. So all is going well in Southern California.
    Love and hugs,
    Mona
