A Little Fall Please and Pinteresting

I am so done with the really hot temps and so ready for fall.  How about you?  I decided I will pretend and start to add a tiny bit of fall to the house.  I dove into the floral tub and found a couple of burgundy/brown hydrangeas and some other flowers that would make a different  arrangement.  Now this has spring, summer and fall all rolled into one with this weird assortment of flowers.

It's fun to just dig into all the flowers you have on hand and see what you can pull together.  Love the touch of green.

Adding a little brown to the breakfast table was fun too.  Just seems like a tiny bit of fall.

I like the brown polka dot ribbon with my new brown check napkins.

Looks great with the basket and floral arrangement on the wall too.

So, how about you, are you beginning to think fall?  I am joining Shanon and Debbie for their Pinterest Follow Along Party.  So I hope you will follow me on Pinterest @ http://pinterest.com/martyo/.

  3. Well Marty, we have hardly had a drop of sunshine here on the Oregon Coast so I am not ready for Fall at all. I know there have been some record breaking temps all over and many are just about melting though! I sure feel for ya on that count :) The pretty new touches sure look cute :) See you at the party!

  7. Hi Marty,
I love the touch of Autumn!
Especially the brown ribbon on the chicken, too cute!
We've been very hot here too and we are breaking records daily.
Tomorrow though only in the 70's after being in the 90's today.
Need to get caught up on my blogging, summer just flies by!
    Hugs friend,

  8. I am definiely ready for Fall, too, Marty! I won't go as far as decorating yet, because when I go out to get the mail it's still sweltering, but I'm planning things out in my head for when I do get those bins down!

  9. Marty,
I adore your touches of Fall that are beginning to make that transition from one Season toanother! The addition of brown on your dining table are calming! It's as if someone whispered. . ."Summer is almost over", dear friend! the combination of floral hues is stunning!!! Love the green with the hydrangea!!! Move on over Summer...Fall's a comin' with cooler temps and richer hues!
    Fondly,

  10. Maybe *because* of the high temps, I am still yearning for some summer I can actually enjoy, and so am not ready for Fall yet... but, your floral arrangement is beautiful and the little hen is precious! I sure don't blame you for wanting a change, Marty!

  14. I'm so glad to hear I'm not alone in wanting to start my Fall decorating, even with our extreme heat right now. I just have to wait until we get a couple of big projects out of the way, or I might get more than just an eye roll from The Man. I'm really trying to be patient, which I'm only good about with my "Grands".....lol!

That is an adorable planter on your table, & the brown polka dot ribbon is so cute. Love your cute check napkins, & please tell where you found those placemats -- love those!

  16. Hi Marty, It has been hard to enjoy Summer this year with the heat. I am ready for some cooler weather. All of the floral arrangements are beautiful and the hen is just so cute! Have a great weekend.

  17. I've been eyeing the fall decor in the stores, but I'm really not ready for it to come yet. I feel like we haven't had summer yet - at least a summer we can enjoy. As everywhere else, it's been so hot out, it might as well be winter since it keeps us confined inside. But no matter how hot, at night I open my bedroom windows so I can fall asleep listening to the crickets and tree frogs singing. That is summer to me and I don't want it to ever end.

  18. Nope, not ready for Fall. Summer is only a month old here at the beach. I savor every minute of it. School doesn't start here till after Labor Day, so I won't think about Fall till after then!
And no Christmas till after Thanksgiving! Savor each season, life flies by!

  19. Lovely arrangement Marty! Perfect for this transition time. Days are still in the 90's here but nights are cool enough to have the windows open. One of my favorite times of the year. Fall can wait a bit. But your decor is a very gentle reminder of what is coming soon. Have a great weekend friend :-)

  27. I'm with you all the way, Marty, I'm soooo ready for fall and cooler temps. I just signed a new lease for a different apartment that is in total shade all day and all year long, because of the horrible summer we have just had. Tonight I am trying a new recipe I found on pinterest for corn and sweet potato chowder with sour dough bread just so I can pretend it's fall outside! Your new flower arrangement is so soothing and cool looking. What a beautiful arrangement!

  30. Oh yes! I'm thinking of fall. My daughter and I were planning our Thanksgiving table just yesterday! I think with school starting Monday it just seems like fall should be around the corner! I love the basket on the dining room wall, really cute!

  31. I'm not quite ready for fall though I really did enjoy setting up our fall displays at work. I love your flower arrangement! It's what I would call a wonderful mix of Indian Summer. Just lovely!

  32. We haven't had the horribly hot weather the rest of the country has been suffering and, since I'm not yet allowed to walk on sand because my foot is still healing, I haven't been on the beach once this summer so I'm not quite ready for fall. But, I did love your mix of flowers in your arrangement! I really need to pull all of my florals together in one place so I can see new possibilities!
    Have a wonderful weekend!
