Table Vignettes and a Giveaway

I love to play with my table vignettes and displays, that is where I can change the look and feel of my home the easiest.  Something can be seasonal, fun, playful, serious, luxurious or country and primitive, it all works and definitely changes the mood of a room.

Since I host a party called Table Top Tuesdays every week, I am sure you can guess that this is one of my favorite things.  In honor of my upcoming birthday, I would love to give you guys a gift.  One of my favorite decorating books of all times is Christi Carter's Art of Accessorizing.

This book is fabulous to show table vignettes for all styles of decor, plus she has a section that gives a step by step tutorial, plus pictures for how to arrange your tables, bookcases and wall vignettes too.  It is a must have for every one that loves to decorate.

See the picture on the cover of her book.  Well I wanted to join one of Debbie's Magazine Copy Cat parties, so this is what I came up with.  Not a total copy, but a similar look and feel.



Once you read through her book, you get the idea of how to layer and group accessories in a very simple or more complex arrangement, but always something that is pleasing to look at.

Now that you know how to create all those wonderful vignettes and displays, you may want to freshen up some of your rooms.

Another book that I would love to give you is Great Traditional Style.  The title is kind of deceiving.  This book is full of hundreds of room that are Traditional, Transitional, Shabby Chic, Ecclectic, Vintage Modern and more.

 Look at this kitchen, isn't is wonderful.  Love the beadboard, the open shelves and that great island.

 What's not to love about this breakfast room.  Old wood paneling, a fireplace and beautiful blue and white.  Plus look at the wonderful lantern chandy.
