This past summer I found a couple of wonderful pieces of Crystal at Goodwill, and since then my collection has really grown. All of these pieces were found at the same GW. It must have been someone else's collection and it all wound up being donated. I love it, so as each piece made it's way to the counters, I grabbed them. They were all under $10, that is soooooooooo cheap for real crystal.
I think it is all so pretty when it is grouped together. Love all the sparkle.
The crystal pitcher with the beautiful pewter spout and the decanter in the back were the only pieces I've had for years. The pitcher belonged to my MIL. The silver and crystal pitcher I found at a Thrift-Resale store for $20, it has an insert for ice to keep the drink cold. Fabulous piece.
I am determined to use all the good china, silver and crystal this year. How about you, do you use yours or is it put away. Mine is definitely coming out to play.

ReplyDeleteYour crystal is so pretty. I really like how you have it arranged on the table. The bowl with the fruit really stands out to me, absolutely lovely! :) xoxo ~Liz
Hi Marty! I love the crystal, and like how you grouped it all together. Looks so nice! :)

Marty, I love your beautiful crystal decanters, bowl and vase. So glad you're showing it off for the Holidays. Everything looks so festive with the crystal in place. Have a great week!
ReplyDeletegoodness, those are just gorgeous pieces!
ReplyDeletePretty and yes with candle light will be perfect for the holidays.
ReplyDeleteMarty, I absolutely LOVE your crystal pieces! They're gorgeous. You're set for the Holidays!
ReplyDeleteI do use some of my good dishes regularly...we kind of trade off. I'm getting rid of one set of dishes (Sango reactive glaze stoneware) after using them for 7 years. I'm tired of them. I have a new and pretty set that will be arriving in the next week or so!!
Please stop by and see my new Blog and perhaps follow me like you did at All Ways Designing.

What a haul Marty. It's all so pretty. I definitely try and use everything. Why not that's what it was intended for. May as well enjoy what we love. The next generation may just put back into GW :)
ReplyDeleteWhat incredible finds Marty! I think I will follow your lead and use some of my pieces that are stashed on a shelf in the basement. How sad is that? They need to be seen and loved!
ReplyDeleteYou inspired me Marty. Right after I saw your beautiful pieces I pulled out some crystal pieces I had hiding away in my china cabinet.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty. My GW doesn't have that kind of good stuff. I think I'll have to venture over to Scottsdale! Thanks for sharing. Hugs
ReplyDeleteI have bought beautiful silver (silver plated, I'm sure) at Goodwill. I've learned through the years what brands are best and mostly stuck with them.
ReplyDeleteI found silver plated flatware at a garage sale many years ago, already in its' beautiful box with flannel inside protecting it.
Isn't it wonderful when we can have such gracious living for so cheap?
I sure hope the original owner had it on display like you have. Such beautiful crystal. Wonderful collection!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love crystal and I love your decanters! Big hugs,
ReplyDeleteFABBY
Marty, what a lucky find. These are gorgeous pieces, and all for under $10 a piece. Amazing! Glad they went home to live at your beautiful home........Sarah
ReplyDeleteMarty, what a beautiful collection of crystal! Your display is gorgeous! The hubby and I just had this discussion over the weekend. We have decided that we are going to use the 'good stuff" daily! What are we saving it for? You only live once, and you might as well live well! Lol!
ReplyDeletelovely pieces, Marty.. I know you'll do many beautiful vignettes with them.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pieces, Marty. They really make a statement grouped altogether!
ReplyDeleteMarty since I have been dx with breast cancer it has really helped me to reevaluate things.
ReplyDeleteI plan to use all the good china , the good towels, anything I previously saved for "something important" or that "special guest".
Your crystal is absolutely gorgeous and looks beautiful on your buffet.
Marty, I think you must have the highest class GW store in America! You always find beautiful treasures. Of course,I suspect it may be that others just overlook what you see. The crystal looks gorgeous with the light from that window shining on it. laurie
ReplyDeleteYou know, I wonder if it is an age thing, Marty? When I was younger I didn't care anything about crystal (or clear glass at all) and now I love it- I think it is beautiful. My friend (an antique dealer) said that once you hit retirement age you start to love crystal...lol...I think she is right! Your pieces look wonderful and they are perfect for your buffet. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteMarty, Your crystal collection is sooo pretty. I especially like the pitchers. Crystal is so timeless. Good finds.
ReplyDeleteBabs
Gorgeous pieces! Those decanters definitely got most of my attention, I love them!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pieces, Marty. They are going to be the highlight of your holiday buffet!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
You have a beautiful crystal collection Marty. I have a few pieces but they are tucked in cupboards as I just don't have room to display them. I do have an old decanter on top of my china cabinet but that's all that is showing. Pamela
ReplyDeleteOh it's so pretty and sparkly! I love the decanters. It's a gorgeous collection.
ReplyDeleteMarty..you always seem to find the greatest crystal pieces...and display them so beautifully!...Yes, I am with you...I am using my "good china and crystal" more and more!...
ReplyDeleteMarty,
ReplyDeleteGorgeous heirloom pieces mixed with your great finds!!! Lead crystal has a luminous shine that is equal to no other. Placing it in front of natural light lets its inner beauty shine radiantly through, a feast for the eyes that behold. We're going Traditional Christmas this year On Crooked Creek...so, yes...there will be silver and crystal displayed and used throughout our home!
Fondly,
Pat
Oh my goodness! I almost fell out of bed....I love those decanters!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, fabulous decanters! Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteKaree
Marty, What beautiful pieces. You were definitely at the right place at the right time :)
ReplyDeleteMarty, you have a gorgeous collection! I also love crystal. Got hooked on it during the many years we lived in Germany and we used to visit the crystal factories very often. Now, that is something to see! I love the way you put together your vignettes using the different pieces. Just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAll of your crystal grouped together looks so pretty Marty. Isn't it amazing how so many people just discard so many lovely pieces!
ReplyDeleteI love the crystal pieces, beautiful collection and display!
ReplyDeleteLike you, I love crystal. You have some bargains, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteMy mom told me once that when crystal gets "milky" to put some white rice in it with some warm water and swirl it around. That cleans it. Good tip, I think!
Hi Marty, Your crystal collection is beautiful and looks wonderful grouped together. I especially love the decanters on your silver tray.
ReplyDeleteMarty, your crystal is gorgeous. I love how you have displayed the whole collection.
