Master Bathroom

Our master bathroom got one of those really deep cleans yesterday.  You know the one with all the bleach, lysol and even toothbrush in all the corners type of clean.  So of course I had to take some pics after I created a really simple vignette on the counter.

This is the view as you enter the doorway from the bedroom.

Not really a big bathroom, but it works for us.

The counter is just big enough for double sinks and a small vignette.  The door to the left is the walk in closet and the door straight ahead is to the "necessary room".

I had a floral arrangement here, but I thought the feathers looked more cozy, so I changed out the accessories.  Love this clock and the pic of my grandson when he was little.  (Hard to believe he is now 21) He is coming for a visit tomorrow night, I can hardly wait.

I have really enjoyed all the Frenchy looking bathroom accessories that I found at Home Goods last year, I think they add tons of character and this room has none.

A view towards the tub and you can see the shower in the background.  The walls are painted Valspar Fioli Antique Lace and I found towels that are almost identical to the walls.  Makes the bathroom appear bigger to not have too many contrasting colors.  Since I am using soft aqua as an accent color in the bedroom, I bought some aqua hand towels to coordinate in here. Handtowels are an inexpensive item to give a bathroom new character.  You can see the master bedroom post here.

I love my magnifying telescoping mirror, perfect for these old eyes to see how to put my makeup on.

A view of the side wall showing the tub and shower.  I love all the light from the window, plus it keeps the bathroom nice and warm too.

The picture has the same tones as the walls and towels, plus the frame matches the light fixtures.

Simple and clean.  Can't get better than that.

Ok, now I need to finish the deep cleaning in the rest of the house.  I noticed that all the baseboards need painting.  Yuck, hate that job, but maybe I can get myself geared up to get it done while it is cool.

  1. Your bathroom is very similiar toours. What do you have on the window over the tub? Is it that widow film???? If so where did you get it? We have a pull down shade on ours right now but I want to replace it with something that lets the light in but provides privacy. XO, pinky

  14. Hi Marty, You may think your bathroom is small but you do have a separate shower and tub-we only have a combo(which I hate). I love your colors and your accent pieces in French. Have a great evening.

  17. You have a real nice bathroom, Marty! It looks like it is probably about the same size as ours, except we don't have a tub and our shower is in with the toilet in a separated area. I love the natural light you get in here. The thing I hate the most living in a condo is not having windows in rooms where I had windows in every room in our old house.

  23. Marty, I need to hire you to do some consulting work on my place. I feel lost with so much to do, and my creative energies are drained. Love how you've decorated the master bath. Maybe I should just post pictures of my place and ask everyone for help? Yvonne

  25. Marty,
I love the light, bright Master Bathroom, dear friend!!!The vase holding the feathers is exquisite! The coolness of the Aqua gives a subtle contrast to your elegant towels on the towel bar. Nothing like "freshening the bath" to lift one's spirits!!! Enjoy your grandson...his childhood photo is adorable!!!
    Fondly,

  26. OK, now you can come deep clean my bathroom! LOL! Your bathroom may not be large but I love the layout. I think it's just the right size. I always enjoy looking at how you accessorize too. I like the frenchy french look, the way you have your towels layered and that you have enough room on your sinks for a floral design in the middle. It's all very pretty!

  29. Your bathroom vignette is so pretty! That's my next project. I just got rid of a big out dated potted faux plant and my area between the two sinks is empty. This is light and pretty. I get so many of my ideas from you, Marty! Always inspirational!
