Elegance at Goodwill

Sometimes the most elegant and wonderful things are at my local Goodwill.  I hadn't been in a while and then I found three really wonderful treasures.

Sometimes you just have to look past the dirt.  I had to clean this with cleanser and a toothbrush, but look what a beautiful white ceramic topiary was under all the grime.  Gorgeous detail in all the fruit.

The other side is just as detailed with different fruit and grapes.

I know I have a thing about clocks, but I really like this little mantel style clock and it has some lovely detail on it too.

All of the little flowers and leaves are raised and so delicately carved.

Together they make a nice vignette on my living room end table.

Next I found this wonderful egg shaped crystal candy dish.  I just love the sparkle. $3.99 and 25% off.

Makes such a lovely vignette on this end table. - - - -

and the candy dish is beautiful on this table.  Some sparkle and glam for the living room.

Elegance on an affordable budget from goodwill.  The fruit topiary was $9.74 after 25% off. the clock was $3.99 and the egg crystal candy dish was $3.99.

  18. You scored big! Any time you find a crystal candy dish with a lid, all undamaged, it's a good thing. Who could beat $3.99?

  25. Great finds Marty!! Love the white fruit piece and the egg candy dish especially. You are right, you just never know what you will find at the Goodwill, that is part of the adventure. I went yesterday and found a few little things, but the most amazing item I saw was Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer nearly new in the box marked $6.99!!! The only problem was that it was in someone else's cart!! She was a young gal and so very excited, on the phone telling about the treasure she found to someone. I thought to myself, that can't be right, they will change it at the register, but no, she walked out with the mixer in her cart for $6.99!! Obviously, someone did make a terrible mistake, but she had a very happy find and I'm sure will tell the tale for years to come. I just love thrifting...but alas, my house is too full already!! I have to not go every week like I used to...;). Thanks for sharing, Blessing, Linda

  27. Marty...as I have stated many times before...you always find the greatest things are your GW...Mine is hit or miss, but mostly "miss"!!...The ceramic fruit topiary is beautiful...and so are the other great finds...I sold a ceramic fruit topiary at a yard sale years ago because I was not crazy about the colors anymore..but now, if I still had it, I would definitely had painted it white...I love that look!...Hope you are having a good week!
