I Have A New Man In The House

I brought a new man home and my husband didn't even care.  He rather likes him, as long as he's Bronze and old.

I think he is fabulous and has so much character.

I have a thing about lamps and especially if they are really well done and different, and this one is both.  He's my latest goodwill find for $15.  All he needed was some dusting with a brush to get in all the crevices and he is perfect.

Isn't the detail on his face and his suit remarkable.  So pretty.

Here you can see even his mustache has unreal detail.

He's such a dapper guy and I'm thrilled he came home with me.  I need to find the right shade, this is just one I had, so I am off to see what I can come up with.

  2. Congrats on your new man and find. Funny I just went to our DV Thrift shop and found 2 great paintings. One is small and a country scene ant the large one is white roses. Both are in oil. I was just so happy like I won a million bucks. Love the hunt!

  3. What an awesome find! I love that you've placed him next to the phone. He doesn't appear to be too quick to answer it.

  7. What a great lamp, Marty! I thought for a minute he was just a figurine. I love lamps that are different like this. I found some neat things at garage sales this week.

  9. Really like that lamp! Isn't it wonderful to find hidden treasures.... love to go "hunting"!

By the way Marty, I haven't stopped searching through the Pfister website, now I want to change ALL the faucets in my house! Still, my favorite is the Ashfield 1-Handle, Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet. The kitchen's faucet is the first one I will replace. Thank you for introducing me to this great company.

  10. Hi Marty! What a find! He is quite handsome! I was wondering what kind of game he is dressed up to play...then I realized that he is a golfer who has lost most of his golf club...only the tip of the handle remains in his hand. Do you think he got mad and broke most of it off (or maybe someone broke it accidentally and that is how he ended up at Goodwill). He had found a wonderful home with you (and your husband).

  12. Ah, well never have done a kitchen tour so maybe I'll hope on that bandwagon too - thanks for the heads up, Marty!!

Hey, I think that lamp is awesome, and what a great thrifty find! I think he is an old golfer - he's holding a golf ball and the handle of what was probably once a golf club....probably broke off. Even so, he's dapper indeed. You have such good eyeballs for these treasures and the way you put the into your home is perfect.

I LOVE visiting your blog - always such a fun thrill to see what you've been up to!

    Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs.
