Shopping Those Clearance Sales

I had to run into "Tar-Jay" the other day for a couple of things, so of course I had to browse the clearance section.  I found some fabulous treasures.

Some of my Christmas decor is not just vintage anymore, it is down right worn out.  When it comes time to pack it all up, there are quite a few things I didn't even use this year, so they will be recycled, trashed or taken to goodwill.  Time to upgrade a few things a little bit.

"Tar-Jay" has all of their Christmas decor on clearance.  I found some super deals and treasures.
Three new trees, a throw and a tray.

I think this throw will be fun to add to my collection, and this might be one that I make into pillows.

You can't buy fabric for this price.

I love these heavy linen -gold tipped trees.  They are so pretty.

I won't even try to make one for $7.48.

This one is really unique too.  Shells.  I love how they mixed different kinds together.

Again, I can't make it for that price.

This is a metal tinsel tree that is 21 inches tall.  I love it and so sparkly.  This will really be fun to have.

Can you believe these prices.  All three trees were $7.48 each.

I love, love, love this gorgeous gold leaf oval tray.  It is a really generous size at 12 x 21 for $14.24.

Some really super buys.  If you havn't been to "Tar-Jay" lately, you might want to check it out.

Last Thursday was a really big day.  Four weeks old and finally going home.  The Lord is so good.  My great-grandson is now four weeks old, his lung is healed and he gets to go home.  What a fabulous Christmas present.  Our family is so grateful for all of your prayers, it has really meant the world to us.  Thank you.

  9. Marty, I haven't had a chance to shop Target this Christmas. In the past, I've always found some fun things. Last year it was tartan candles. I bought all they had, so I'll have some for several years.
Your grandbaby is adorable. What a wonderful Christmas to have him at home with his family.

  26. Oh Marty - Your great grandson is adorable and yes, praise God that he is doing so well!!!
Love your clearance items from Tar-Jay! I must do a drive by to see what I can find since I too had to throw out a few "vintage" decorations this year. In fact, yesterday my husband called me out to the garage to tell me that our trash compacter was singing. It was the swinging Santa whose arthritic hips no longer swing that I'd thrown into the trash. I felt relieved that hubby didn't insist on digging it out of the garbage to try to fix it! Haha! Christmas blessings to you dear, DEAR Marty. Love and hugs, Patti

  27. I hear you on the vintage stuff. Some boxes I couldn't even bear to open this year, I am so sick of looking at that old stuff. So, off to the donation box, making way for the new. Love your great finds.

  35. Oh heavens, so happy for you your new little one was able to go home for Christmas. Thank you God for that miracle. They are so precious. Will you be able to see him and your family tomorrow? I sure hope so. His going home was long awaited by all of you.
Think I'll be up earlier than usual on Thursday as I want to see if Tar-jay still has some nice patterned, good sized, rectangular tablecloths I want to make curtains out of and a set of napkins for pillow covers. I use one napkin then use another fabric so I can make two covers. Time for something fresh for curtains in our room and pillows for bed. I can cut the tablecloths in half to have a set of curtains for each window as they're 60"by 120". The cloths have been at same spot for about a month so I'm wondering why, wondering what price will be on them by Thursday. We were there last week but I didn't have enuf money to buy them, today was payday for us (SS). I'll be looking for other bargains. Did get a great red metal tray 1/2 off last week. I had just seen it on City Farmhouse blog so was happy to see it 1/2 off, spent last money I had til today. Good old Tar-jay. I imagine that place will be a nut house on Thursday and Friday. We live west of Grand Junction, CO.
Hoping you have a great wonderful Christmas and exceptional New Year
