French Antique Breadboards

I don't know why we all love antique breadboards so much, but when Santa gave me my presents, I just squealed with delight when I saw this.

A french antique breadboard and a world war 11 ammo basket.  How cool is this!!!!!

Of course I had to immediately add a couple of my other cutting-bread boards to it.

I had the perfect spot for it too.  Fits perfectly on this sliver of wall.

I love it and it just gives me a thrill every time I walk into the kitchen.

He says he found both by scouring the internet and came up with them piece by piece.  I think that guy is a keeper for sure.

So what did you squeal over this year?

I am also squealing with delight at getting to hold and love my new Great-grandson.  There is nothing more wonderful than holding and snuggling with a precious baby, just one of the Lord's most wonderful gifts.  It is such a thrill and blessing to have his lungs healed and have him home so we can love on him a little.

  1. First and foremost, your great grandson is precious, and congratulations on having him home and healthy!

I know what you mean about 'squealing with delight'. I would be too over that lovely and unique gift!

What did I squeal over you ask? Well, I didn't exactly squeal as it's technologically challenging, but I'm happy to have my GoPro video camera :). I guess hubby has more faith in my abilities than I do!

  48. Hi Marty, First, the baby is the most precious thing on this post but I have to say I too love bread boards and have two original WWII artillery baskets. I use one for cutting boards and cookie sheets and the other is in my entryway. The one in the entry has the metal canisters still intact so they hold umbrellas and walking sticks. I LOVE them! It's hard to find the originals but I had seen the ones on Wayfair also and they are gorgeous! Yours looks great. What a nice and thoughtful gift.

I find that wooden items bring cosiness to the atmosphere, no matter their shape or purpose they might be usually used for.
Wishing best to your family an cute little great-grandson!
