New Centerpiece for the Breakfast Table

I like to keep the breakfast table ready to use all the time, so whatever I do for a centerpiece pretty much has to stay.  I just want to be able to fill our plates, and sit down and enjoy a good meal without having to totally undo a "pretty" tablescape.  So functional is definitley the key word.

Since I added some bright tangerine colors to the family room area, I thought the breakfast area should have some of the same color since they are both one room.

A simple tablesetting lets this Fitz and Floyd fruit tureen take center stage.

This piece is one of my all time favorites.  It is literally covered in all kinds of fruit and flowers.

There are different fruit and flowers on this side of the lid too.  Gorgeous detail.

The placesetting is really simple.  A straw mat, my Horchow flatware and a tangerine napkin.  I am using two chargers, one is tortoise and wicker and the other is a cream color with embossed flowers.  I can just set my everyday dishes on top and then that's all I have to clear off after the meal is done.  Simple & easy.

Ties in great with the family room area.  Now maybe I need to add some tangerine to the kitchen too.

  26. What a gorgeous tureen, Marty! Plus, I am a fan of Fitz & Floyd pieces. I am the same way for our dining table. We eat at this table most nights and I don't want to be moving a bunch of things out of the way to set the table. I try to keep whatever I'm using as a centerpiece simple.
