Reworking the Gallery Wall

My house is full of windows which I love, however that really doesn't leave me much wall space.  It is an open floor plan, so no interior walls to speak of and then with all the windows, not much in the way of exterior walls either.  I love a gallery wall and try to make the most of any wall space I have.  So the family room one wall got a few tweaks.

I redid a couple of things on this side of my collage.

This is what it looked like before.  Ok, but I really didn't like the plant, but for a long time I couldn't figure out anything else.

Again, just ok, but not what I really wanted.

I think this is much better and has much cleaner lines and is more interesting.

I like it better and it seems like it gives the wall a cleaner fresher look.

So what do you think?

  1. My favorite object on the wall is the oval cottage print. I think you chose wisely - the items are interesting and eye-catching without the clutter.

  7. I think it looks great as it is, but you asked for opinions so here's one: One end has two pictures that are straight. The other end has three unusual pieces. I wonder what it would look like to mix one of the even pieces in the right end and put one of the unusual pieces at the left end? Just a thought if you decide to mix it up again in the future. Love your décor and your blog.

  8. I think it looks wonderful. I'm still not confident when it comes to putting stuff on my walls. I kind of envy you that you don't have that many. I am completely walled in, it seems, and I am rarely happy with what is on them so they stay too bare.

  11. It looks nice, Marty! I like the new look. I just gave my daughter a sconce shelf like yours that I had at my booth {now closed} and told her she should incorporate it into her proposed gallery wall.

  18. Marty,
I love the way you had it but this is much more open to the eye. Love it. Isn't it amazing how you can tweak just a little bit here and there and get a whole new feel to the wall. Love it. Great job.
