A Few Updates To The Kitchen

I use to change up the vignettes in the kitchen every time I wiped down the counters.  (Well, that's an exaggeration, but I did change them often.)  For some reason, things have stayed the same for quite a while.  So with adding all the tangerine in the family room and breakfast area, of course the adjoining kitchen needed some updates.

Can you believe I actually have a tangerine rooster.  I know, who in the world has one.  Well I found this one at goodwill a couple of years ago and I absolutely love him, how fun is that.

I have also looked for weeks for a round wicker tray, then all of a sudden they had some new ones at Target.  I was doing the happy dance.  Love the size of this one and it is their small size.

I added another one of my brass planters that I found at goodwill last week.    Faux fruit, succulents and a wheat stalk round out my display.

I redid the back counter too while I was at it.

I love my butter slab, so I just had to bring it back down from the top of the fridge.  I think it really belongs here.
Use creative accessories in the kitchen

My bunny is nesting in the corner.  I think he can stay out past  Easter.  He's really so pretty.

This is my favorite sampler that I did over 40 hears ago.  It has hung in my kitchen ever since.

The breakfast area got a little tangerine too.
Add spicy colors to the table

It's nice to have a few new things to look at.  I do enjoy my kitchen and spend a lot of time here, so it's important to me to have it looking pretty.
Showcase your style with accessories

And there's not much that is prettier than a Tangerine Rooster.  I think he's pretty sharp.

So what are your favorite things, and do you have something a little strange too?

  27. I agree. He is pretty sharp! I guess it was because of you that I added some orange to my blog. That was a first. I'm easing into the orange and tangerine and peachy world some myself now.

  30. Marty, love that rooster. It's so perfect for your kitchen. You have an eye for things that others may pass up and then say, "why didn't I buy that, it would look perfect here!"
My favorite things are bunny rabbits. Years and years ago when I first started dating my hubby I used to call him my funny bunny. Ugh, how corny is that? What can I say, we were young and in love. Later I found out that his family name meant "hare" in Polish. Who would have thunk! So recently I purchased a white ceramic bunny with lace design on it that I just love! It is my favorite piece right now, but I have many bunnies in my house and in my garden. One rule, they have to be cute!

The tangerine is such a fun and happy color and makes the entire space a lot brighter. I wish I could find such fun items at my goodwill - I'll keep looking!!! Oh, and the round rattan tray from Target is fantastic, too.
