How To Create A Seating Area in The Master

I think every master bedroom should have a seating area of some kind.  Now it can be big and elaborate, or really small.  Most of us don't have the space to do big and elaborate.  If we're lucky, we have a small sliver of space and that's it.

This little nook of space in our master is only 4 ft. wide.  Big enough for a chair and table.

A gold and silver metal garden stool found at Ross for $39 makes the perfect size table.  Big enough to hold a couple of decorative items and still big enough to place a drink on.

The chair was my favorite goodwill find and only $15.  I love this chair.  It's very small in scale, so it fits perfectly in this small space.  I can change the back pillow to coordinate with the rest of my decor in the room.

The painting and sconces I've had for years.  Perfect touches to finish off this space.  Now doesn't this look inviting.

You don't need a big space to create a spot to sit, relax and have a little me time.  Think small and find a corner somewhere.  This could turn out to be your favorite spot in the house.

So did you carve out a spot in your master for a small seating area?

  3. The idea is going in my idea book. The real name of the book will be "copy this" lol. Not even a tiny sliver of space but hope our next house has more room.

  14. Dear Marty...that little chair is adorable. I have no sitting area in our little bedroom. so I sit on my little trunk at the foot of our bed when I need to sit. But our little living room is just around the corner with lots of cozy places to sit. Yep..the old trunk has to do. It might be nice to have a cozy reading spot but I read in bed...only sit to put on shoes or nylons. Stilll...a tiny soft, cute chair would be lovely. AND such a pretty stand next to it. Lovely finds, both!

  21. We are fortunate to have a sitting area in our master. However it is NOT exactly what I like, there is a big, honking TV on a swivel thing on the wall so we can see it from the bed or the little loveseat and then there is my make up table so I never show that side of the room:) Yours is LOVELY. I love the chair and the table!!! You find the BEST BARGAINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do have a sitting area in my master. I'm wanting different chairs though...something more comfy. It's big enough got two chairs and a small table.

  28. Perfect! Eventually I'd like to carve out a small sitting area in my bedroom but first I need to find a new home for at least one piece of furniture. Here's to more downsizing!
