Did You Ever Buy Wine For The Label

When I was shopping the other day, I went down the wine aisle and found a label that just made me giggle, so of course I had to buy it.

Now you have all seen a million pictures of my desk accessory Kate Spade knock-offs that I have been doing.   Since her colors are pink and black, this just seemed like kismet.   I had to buy it.

See the top of the bottle label.  Black and shocking pink.

Does this match my deck accessories or what?  Of course I had to get out a fancy glass with gold trim too.

(Seems like when you start a project you find all kinds of things to go with it.  Did you notice my new paperclip note stand?)

The chardonnay was way too cute, so I had to buy it too.  These are so fun and would really be perfect for a girls night in.  The wine wasn't bad either.

Now I have to look for more when I am at the store.  Tooooooooo Cute!!!

  3. I HAVE so many times. I keep the "empty" favorites in a wine rack, like, "Little Black Dress" with a hanger sported on the bottle and cork. My latest spontaneous buy is a little plastic pilsner shaped cup with a replaceable lid that is a Pinot Grigio promo. It's as cute as a button! I keep it for deck sitting and sipping. It's called "mama's sippy cup". ;)

I love your desk accessories! (Including the new bottle; it's too cute!)

  5. Marty,
These bottles are so so cute. I love the pink moscato and the bottle is too cute. I have a girlfriend party coming up and I always am looking for cute prizes so I may have to get these cute wine bottles for that. Thanks for sharing.

  7. I never buy wine, hubby does, but, I would have bought this one just for the name too, lol! It looks fabulous in your desk with all the fabulous accessories. I love the paper clip! Cheers, I love wine, though...

  8. Too cute! Last year I was given a bottle of "dachshund" wine for my birthday. As I have yet to find a source to purchase more I haven't opened it. :)

  11. I have never bought wine for the label, but I have bought them for the shape of the bottle and we don't even drink wine. When we have dinner with our Daughter we sometimes bring her one. I than tell her I want the bottle back. HA! HA!

  12. You are too funny, Marty! I have seen things in stores before that I just love the label on, but I have not bought them for that reason. Wine might be a different story because that you can drink. I'm glad to see you did actually drink it! : )

  13. I have bought all kinds of liquor for the label...lol! Some was good and some not so good....but at least I had my pretty bottle!!

  14. Yes, I have! It had a rooster on the label...the wine was not very good though, lol.

  15. That's basically how I pick out my wine. If it's not going to look good in the wine rack, then what's the point of buying it? I went through a real wine phase a few years ago, but now I just buy it for when the girlfriends come over. So cute matters.

  16. I laughed out loud at this 'cause I can't even remember how many times I've gone for the cuteness of the bottle rather than what was in the bottle.

  17. How fun, Marty! Every girl needs a bottle of wine that matches her desk! ;-) My fave winery in Arkansas is Chateau Aux Arc, which is owned by a female vintner AND the logo is so beautiful! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures

  18. That's a cute bottle, Marty. I would have been tempted too. Before Mother's Day, I saw an adorable bottle at World Market, and I, unfortunately, decided to come back later to buy it and serve with dinner. Of course, by the time I went back, it was sold out! :)

  19. I definitely judge a bottle by it's cover. My husband has been wanting to try to produce a wine with our Just Right Chunky trademark. I think that label would be fun too! I don't drink since my breast cancer diagnosis, but I occasionally buy a non alcoholic Cabernet. Wish there were more non alcoholic choices, but there is usually only one label in Safeway available. Your bottle is beautiful. Always good when the cute labels come with a nice wine :)

  21. Marty, I don't even drink wine because of an allergy, but I have bought wine because of the labels. I think the wine makers are on to us. I see more and more witty labels on wine bottles lately. These are really cute. How did the wine taste? laurie
