Refreshing My Wardrobe - End Of Season Sales

Whenever the stores have their end of season sales is my favorite time to shop.  Since we live in the desert, we pretty much wear summer clothes all year long.  Time to find a few pieces to freshen up my wardrobe.

I dress very basic and classic.  My wardrobe colors are black/white/grey and brown with a dash of red thrown in.  I need to refresh some of my "run to the grocery store" and "run a few errands" kind of outfits.  I also like to see if I can dress them up a little for a casual date night or lunch with the girls.

This black and white tee shirt can be worn all by itself or add a scarf or necklace, a great pair of pumps or cute glitzy sandles and it can go out on the town.

When I find a style I like I buy multiples if I can, so I also got this in the brown and white stripe.

A fresh red tee is always a must and a staple in my wardrobe.  I love to pair it with a blazer and a great pair of jeans.  (Yes, I still wear my Ralph Lauren Signature Blazer.)   This outfit can take you just about anywhere.

This simple brown and white printed tee can be thrown over a pair of white or khaki pants and off to the grocery store all by itself, but bring out a blazer and necklace, now it can go to town.

I always look for basics when I shop and I can always use a fresh black tee shirt and this one is so cute with the buttons and pockets.

I love a good pair of white capri's and this is such a really cute style with the buttons.  The black pants are a fabulous pair of knit pull-ons perfect for running errands or working out.  I love the way these are tailored and they have just a touch of stretch, so they fit really well and super slimming.  They are by Apt. 9 if you are looking for a great pair.

I can never walk away from the shoes, and anything with a little glitz is fun to have.

I love these brown leather ones, super comfy with the cork soles and perfect with any outfit.

Fun shopping day, 5 tee shirts, 2 pants, 2 shoes and my total was just under $100.  Not bad.
Have you been shopping the clearance sales too?

  4. Marty, I love your taste in clothing. I wear a lot of Ralph Lauren too. So classic, lasts forever, looks so classy and stylish. Thanks for all the fashion tips, scarves are such a great accessory to any wardrobe. I really need to pick some up before they're all gone for the season.

  5. What a great wardarobe, love all the items, I was astonished at the price, there is NO WAY IN THE WORLD that you could purchase that many items for $100. I picked up a new season, Spring (well a couple of months away yet) T shirt in a shop in Auckland the other day, it was $59...for a Tshirt! I need to put the USA on my next overseas trip :). Actually, I do a lot of my fashion shopping on line as it is so much cheaper for me here.

  6. Great finds and I like the way you work with basics then spice them up. I'm always on the hunt for perfect tshirts. I like to wear them with different necklaces and scarves if the weather is cool. Can't live without my denim jacket either!

  7. These are really cute outfits and I love how you've accessorized them to go from day to night! I shop for summer, winter and spring/fall. How I wish I could narrow that down to one type of clothing. And I have to pack everything up seasonally and store it! Ugh! I do love the end of season sales. They go in my bins and I'm surprised months later! :)

  13. Marty, those are some great finds! I've been refreshing my wardrobe too...cleaned out the clothes I either couldn't wear or didn't like anymore. I got some things on sale but some I just couldn't say no to! So my total was way more than yours. Love that first outfit although they all look great!

  14. I tried on the brown sandals at Target, but passed them up. Probably shouldn't have but I'm trying to only buy just what I need these days. Trying to simplify.

  18. I am determined to not buy anything new this Fall. I seldom go out where I need anything special..and already have all I need..including my pretty dark blazer. I love the pretties you bought Marty. My short, sqat, sawed off little chubby frame would not look good in a few of the things that you chose ..but YOU are going to look smashing! :) Simply smashing. There wasn't a single tihng I didn't like..and those sandles are adorable.

  19. Oh, Marty.. I LOVE your outfits. You can pick out my clothes anytime.. I wish I still had my RL blazer. I got it when big shoulder pads were in, and got rid of it years later instead of having it re-made or buying another one. Thanks for the tip on the black pants. I like that Apt. 9 too. I'll check them out, 'cause I need some new black pants.

  23. Those are such cute pieces, Marty! I did some refreshing and added some new items to my wardrobe a bit before we took our vacation. Dillards is my favorite place to shop for casual and dressy casual clothing, and they always have early "end of the season" sales. I took total advantage of it!
