Where In The World Was All Of This Stuff

We pulled everything in the living/dining area into the middle of the room so I could prep to paint.   When I walked back into the room I almost had a heart attack.  Where in the world was all of this stuff.

There's some on this side of the room too.  All we have is a narrow path to the front door.

This is what the living room normally looks like - -

and this is the dining area (minus the christmas wreaths)

When you pull it all up in one spot it looks like so much more.  I still think I need to weed out and edit.

I am going to be using the same color as I did for the family/breakfast area.  Reliable White by SW.  (See it in the doorway - love this white)

Ok, now to get this place painted, purged and back together.

  4. Hi Marty,
I just started a project in my living room and I get the "where did all this stuff come from"!!!! I have all my living room in the dining room so we can paint and do a wall treatment. I know your living room will look so pretty in the new color.

  5. Marty,
    I totally, understand, dear friend!!!
While painting the interior Kitchen cabinets, "Mr. Ed" and I filled two 4ft. tables, the guest room bed and some spilled under one of the 4ft. tables. Some was pitched, some placed in a box for donation and some went to the lower level shelving until warmer weather!!! Ah~h~h. . .time to purge, once again!!!
Your rooms are always a source of inspiration!!!
LOVE the "fresh" color palette on the walls!!!
So~o~o what other projects are in your 2015 Line~Up???
    Fondly,
    Pat

  7. I understand completely about feeling like you still need to weed out some of your things, not because your living room isn't absolutely gorgeous as is, but because I just did the same thing. We took all the stuff out of our living room to have new floors installed, and I'm kind of loving it more bare. Your new paint will be so pretty, and I'll be interested to see if everything makes it back into your room. :)

  8. It does look like a lot in the middle but it did not look crammed in in the picture. I think you probably just found a good layout for a lot of furniture.

  9. I can not wait to see the outcome Marty!! I am trying to purge as well!

  10. I know it really can be overwhelming to see all the stuff in one spot! I will be in the same situation in a month or two...Can't wait to see how it all turns out!

  11. You and I both have a mess going. Yes, it is hard to believe how much stuff there is when you pull it all together.

  12. Looking forward to the finished result. The Reliable White is a pretty color. XOXO

  13. Marty, it doesn't look like much to me. When we painted it was piled nearly to the ceiling. Gonna be sooo pretty! :)

  14. I guess that is why I tend to purge stuff every January. I have pulled much of it from the rooms to make way for the Christmas items and then I don't want to put it all back when I see the empty space in January. I then edit, edit, edit but of course fill it back up by the next year.

  15. And....what will you do when the hardwood floors are installed??? It will be doubled!! But worth all the effort.........bless you for all the energy you have.......hugs...

  16. I totally get it! When we recently had floors replaced, the were going to do ALL the hardwoods and there is NO WAY we could have done that. We would have had to move out again! We are also getting ready to paint, I am NOT looking forward to the mess and work, but REALLY looking forward to a new look and some COLOR! Are you painting or hiring it out?

    1. Oh gosh, hiring it out would be fun, however, I am doing it. Great exercise though. haha

  19. I have to chuckle at your feeling that you need to weed. It just looks that way when it is in a pile. Your living room is lovely, and does not have too much stuff. Great progress on your projects!

  20. It may look like a lot when in a big pile, but you do such a great job of styling. It doesn't look cluttered.
