It Begins - Some Looking Pretty & Some A Mess

I am knee deep in boxes, bins and ornaments.  Outside and inside going up all at the same time and a big mess in general.

You kow how it goes, it looks terrible before it looks pretty.

I keep walking past the few pretty spots in the house and am trying to ignore the mess everywhere.

  1. After years of HAVING to do everything Thanksgiving weekend, I decided to take it slowly. culminating in putting up the tree around the 10th or so. It's less stress for me and I enjoy the time more than a totally decorated house by December 1!

  2. Whew, I can so relate! Yesterday I spent way too much time rearranging furniture - that ended up right back where it started! Your pretties are all that!

  4. Slow. I couldn't decide where I wanted my three little tabletop trees. Then I had to take Abi to the vet this morning and she has a torn ACL in her leg and will be having surgery Wednesday. Just seems like every time I get going, something happens to slow me down!

  5. Historically I have dedicated 1 room to Xmas with mayby a smattering of decorations, lights elsewhere. And this doesn't occur until the weekend before Xmas and then dismantled the weekend after. I'm thinking this year may start early as my youngest daughter is only home for two weeks before running away for a white Xmas in Canada (we are in Australia - no snow here!) on the 15th Dec. I'd like the home to look a little festive before she goes.
    Love your reindeer! x Julie

  7. I am taking a break while the hardwood floor I just waxed dries. So, it's a mess. The furniture in the room was emptied out into other rooms....I just can't decorate until AFTER the deep clean. Thankfully the family room and two bedrooms are done. Just the living room, kitchen and one bedroom are left. I am shooting for Wednesday to take photos for the tour. Fingers crossed. :)

    Your 'pretties' are exceptionally so!!!
I began the first week of November this year.
I wanted to be 'finished' by the beginning of Advent.
Now, I'm sitting back and enjoying the Season of Advent and Christmas!!!
    Keep those inspiring photos coming!!!
    Fondly,

  9. Mine is coming along a lot like yours - there are boxes and stuff everywhere, Thanksgiving & Christmas all jumbled on the table before it all gets sorted out (even though I put a lot of fall/Thanksgiving away). I hope it's all sorted out tomorrow.
