Thanksgiving Table Pulled Right Out Of Goodwill

I love a casual or rustic tablescape, but sometimes you just want a little glam.  Spending tons of money to achieve that look doesn't have to happen.
You can find it all at your local Goodwill store.  Seems like so many people are getting rid of their silver, so with a little thrifty shopping you can pull a table together for mere pennies.

I love a pretty table and last year I created one with all my Goodwill finds, so I thought I would do the same again.

I've had these placemats for years, but there some beautiful placemats, runners and tableclothes at Goodwill too.  Don't forget about the Dollar Tree, they have some great linens also.

The candelabra was a fabulous find, but I always see silver candlesticks or you could use a glass hurricane with candles or crystal looking candlesticks would be great too.

The revere bowl makes a great vase for a fall bouquet.  If you don't find silver, I am sure you will find a pretty glass bowl that would look amazing.

Pheasant or turkey figurines are usually available for mere pennies.

Silver trays are always plentiful and most run a couple of dollars.  They don't have to match, just pick the ones you like, they make great chargers.

White dishes go with any tablesetting, you can even find some great ones at the Dollar Tree too.

I found four of the silver goblets and then later found another four, so buy what you can when you see them.

The gold rimmed water glass is a pretty compliment to any table, but adds a touch of elegance with the silver.

Look for the unusual too.  I love this silver wine caddy.

When you mix it all together you have a lovely table that looks really expensive and grand for just a few dollars.

I will be using both tables, so I will set the breakfast room table later.  Can't wait to share that one with you.

What are your favorite tips for setting a thrifty table?

  4. I did the same thing last year with Goodwill finds, etc. I'm not hosting this year which is a relief (35 people was a lot!). Gorgeous Marty as usual!

  5. I have to tell you Marty our Goodwill is the worst. I've mentioned this to you a few times. Mostly clothes no household stuff at all. Love the silver candelabra and the silver challis glasses. Everything really came together beautifully. Keep hunting. Oh yeah, I enjoy Pheasants for the fall more than turkeys for decorating.

  7. You must have one heck of a Goodwill in your vicinity. Ours is never like that when I go in. Expensive and tacky is all I see. But I'm glad you get great stuff!

  13. Very beautiful. I love finding silver too! I can't believe people get rid of it. I know the cleaning part is a bummer but if used often then cleaning is not needed as much. You have scored some really beautiful pieces.
