Fun Shopping At My Favorite Place

I am loving being back in my old neighborhood and near all of my favorite shopping places.  We lived in this area for 20 years before moving to the West side and our previous home.  I am so happy to not have to make an hour or more trip to come to some of my favorite haunts.

There are several things we need for the new home and of course I love looking for some great quality used furniture that I can repurpose for my needs.  There is one store that always has tons of fabulous things and it is by far my favorite place to browse.

It is called J& K and it is at 28th St. and Bell Rd. in Phx.  Unreal.

There is always furniture out front.  They were unloading trucks full of new and used.  Always a mix of both.

Cute little wash stand   I think the price was $59

Just inside the door this is what I saw, again a mix of old and new.  It is so crammed full you can hardly walk through.

Love that highboy,  they were selling this as a set.  Gorgeous 4 poster bed, highboy, dresser and night stands.  $799  I am not crazy about sets, but this was beautiful and great quality solid wood pieces.

See how big this place is and this is just one room.  They do have great prices on sofas.

So many dining tables and chairs.

Sorry this is blurry.  I was trying to show you a different room and section.  Tons of bedroom furn.

Different piece.  They have every style you could think of.

Can you believe that chandelier!!!  Also look at that domed curio cabinet.  You never have any idea what you will find in here.

Now we're into another whole section.

You can always find something here and their inventory changes all the time.

My favorite discount fabric store and Hotel Liquidators are right around the corner too.  How fun is this.  No more long drives, I am so close and loving it.

  3. Oh I like the doomed china cabinet I could paint that white and add it right in my kitchen and eliminate the old blue painted dresser I am using for a side board.
I also like the high boy I have one and always think when I have to really downsize I will keep my high boy. It would be so nice to live close to such a store. There is nothing in my small city for furniture shopping

  4. Hi Marty and I can see why you'd love this store. I think I could do some damage in there! I wish there was a fabric outlet around here. I miss great fabric stores. All I've found here are the JoAnn shops and a couple of privately owned fabric shops that are so overpriced! Have fun!

  6. What a great place to shop! It wouldn't be a quick trip, tho. Saw lots of lovelies...what did you buy? A discount fabric shop would be wonderful.

  8. I live in Peoria and love J&K's too. I scored my best purchase EVER there which was a Thomasville granite-topped triple dresser with two matching granite-topped nightstands all for $900. One side of the dresser had been slightly damaged by a forklift, which my husband was able to repair and it's barely noticeable. I saw the nightstand alone at the Thomasville store for over $1,200 for just one! Have fun shopping for your new home! I can't wait to see what you do with your "builder basic".

  15. OMG, that is awesome. We have one place like that in Chicagoland that I know of, but it is way in the south suburbs, and hour and a half one way. So I don't get down there often enough. GREAT hunting---you will certainly be able to find perfect pieces there for your new home. The vaulted ceilings swallow furnishings if the scale isn't right. Happy Hunting, thanks for making me want to move south, LOL. Sandi

  20. Marty, Sounds like you're definitely back in "home sweet home". What I wouldn't give to have a place 1/4 the size of that to shop for home treasures! I saw so many things in your pictures I'd love to have. To get to a place only "kind of" like this, it is a 200 mile trip for me. One way! Lucky girl! Enjoy!
