This & That - Let's Chat - Questions & Answers

I love being able to answer you guys questions that you leave in the comments.  So many have asked the same questions over and over, so I thought I would answer them all here.

My Hall Bathroom Makeover Reveal that I did in our previous home has been in several magazines and pinned about a gazillion times.  Thank you guys so much for all the fabulous input about that makeover.  The one thing that I am always asked about is the double shower curtain that I hang from the ceiling.  I did a post -DIY Double Shower Curtain Liner Tutorial that gives step by step detail for how it is done.  Super easy and it really elevates a simple bathroom to chic new heights.

Since so many of you are thinking about doing a little remodeling and installing wood floors in your home, I get asked all the time about the wood floors I had installed in our last home and the ones that we have in the new house.  This post tells you all about the last house.  I loved those floors, they were gorgeous and a dream to clean.  Living Room Reveal - New Floors

In our new home we chose something with the same color tones, but a totally new product.  We are having a pool built in the back yard, so this home is going to get a lot of wet traffic coming in from the patio.  We wanted something that looked like fabulous wood floors that could take the wet.  We chose a product called NuCore that is a 100% waterproof laminate.  I absolutely adore it.  This post will tell you all about it.  Kitchen Makeover Update - Picture Timeline Part #2

You guys have really made my day with your comments and questions about my new home and our kitchen remodel.  My New Kitchen Resource Breakdown - - - should give you a complete breakdown of all the resources in this remodel.  Thanks so much for all your gracious compliments on how it turned out.  I am loving it.  I hope this post will show you how easy and inexpensively you can do a kitchen remodel.

I also want to thank you all so much for your support and encouragement as we settle into our new home.  You guys are amazing to help me figure out problem spaces and you are the greatest cheerleaders to help guide me as I try to turn our wonderful "Builder Basic" into the perfect home for us.  No home is truly perfect, but with the right planning, a little diy and friends like you to offer help and advice, I think any home can be transformed into a comfortable space that fits your family.

Keep the questions coming, I love hearing from you.

  2. I have one question about the Nucore floors, do they have a smell? Do they off-gas or anything? My friend wants to use this product but really can't find any answers. Thanks Marty I'm a big fan of yours and think your home is lovely. Teri

    1. There is no odor or gas discharge at all. They look and feel just like wood and that is what everyone thinks they are. Best part is you just vacuum and mop, how can you beat that.

    1. I bought a 12mm laminate and the color is Canyon Oak. It is a medium brown with some light and dark highlights. I think it is the perfect color. Hope you can find something like it.

  7. I do not have a Floor and Decor in my state. Could you share the brand of the Canyon Oak laminate floors. Maybe I could find the flooring in a local store in my city. Thanks so much.

    1. They don't show a brand name. Here is the link to the Canyon Oak at Floor & Decor. They also ship, so you might check that out. I am also emailing you a couple of pictures of the box. Hope that helps.
