Printing On Glass - Well Sort Of

I found some free printable feather drawings on pinterest the other day and downloaded them and printed them all out.  I told my hubby I was going to get some frames and do a collage around the tv in the family room.  He said, wait I have an idea.  I have some clear printer paper, let's try to print one out on it.  Well, you wouldn't believe it, but this stuff is magic.  I took the back board off my frame, stuck this to the back of the glass on my frame, and I now have something that looks like it was printed on glass, or etched.  It looks amazing.

I had 7 different images, so I bought 7 frames from the Dollar Store and we created this really neat collage around the tv.

I think I need a few more to make a larger collage, but this is so fun and I love how they are clear.

I took this picture to show you how clear they are.  Isn't this fun.

OK, now to find a few more feather prints and do some more.

What do you guys think, is this better than ones with a mat or is the clear better?

(All the new furniture will be here soon.  Just got a notice that the coffee table is ready to ship.  Sofa and chairs won't be here until after Christmas, so slow is good I guess. )

  2. I love that it is such a neutral look. These could be used in a living room, bedroom, or even just down a long hallway. Very nice, Marty!

    2. We have had ours for quite a few years, my hubby has used it for a few projects at work, so it was something we already had on hand. You can probably find it at any office supply store.

  5. What a great idea! Love it and if you are in love with the paint color on your walls it will not clash with all the different shades of paper and matting!

  6. I actually like your room the way it presently is, and the picture collage is wonderful and adds the perfect finishing touch. But ha ha, I know you are like me and we love to tweak our rooms and change things up now and then. I like this neutral look.

  9. What a clever idea. I used to work in a print shop (kind of) and we used that for different things but this is a fantastic idea, Marty. Your wall needed that to finish it off. I like the way it really grounds the TV now.

Have a great night- xo Diana

  11. Beautiful. Ive never heard of clear copy paper, I'm going to look for it.
I have an idea for you to try....the tall/long sconces that are on the sides of your horse pic are beautiful and are perfect size for the picture but how about moving them to one on each side of your television worked in with your feather pics in gold frames..? I think it would add balance. It may seem to leave the horse pic lonely but maybe curtains on the windows? So funny but as soon as you moved in I felt that wall was the perfect spot for your horse pic :)

  12. This is such a clever idea, Marty. I need some of that clear copy paper. Your "painted on glass" feathers look so high end. Thank you for the inspiration.
