Table Top Tuesday - Adding Some White

Welcome to Table Top Tuesday!!! I can hardly wait to see everyone's beautiful vignettes and decorations.

As I have said before, I have a very small home and therefore I don't have that many tables to decorate, so you will probably see all kinds of surfaces from me. I just have to play somewhere. lol

This is the vignette I have had on this table for a while, and I am really ready for a change.

This table sits between two chairs in my living room.

I am really drooling over all the beautiful white rooms that I see in blogland and in all the magazines, so I want to try and bring more white into my home, so I gathered a few white things and changed out this table.

I decided to use one of my lovely white china ladies, so I gave her a little importance by placing her on a bowl that I turned upside down as a pedestal. Makes her look a bit more grand.

Of course a cute white frame with a pic of my granddaughter is always fun for me to look at.

A white cache pot that I found at Goodwill filled with some pretty white flowers from the Dollar Tree adds a big tough of white.

I have been looking for white lamps for a while and couldn't find anything that I liked at a price I wanted to pay, and then yip-skip, as many times as I look in GW there is never anything, and then today I found this. I was so thrilled. Just the right size. I got the barrel shade at Target, so the total cost was $22.00. Not bad!!!!

I replaced the beige throw with a white one I found at Fry's Grocery and added a yellow toned pillow instead of the dark one. I like the look much better. Now to do the rest of the room

Just to keep life real I thought I would show you the mess I have on the dining table. I am shuffling things around and doing some craft projects and so I have everything out of my way and on the dining table. I guess that should be next weeks Table Top Tuesday. lol

Thank you all so much for dropping by and thank you for joining in on the party fun. I can't wait to see what all you do.

Be sure to sign in below to Mr. Linky. I really don't want to miss anything.

  17. I had to work today but I quick came home and did a few changes to my dining table so I could participate in your party, Marty.. You have been so very kind and encouraging to me since my very first blog post and I couldnt let you have a party without me.. Thank you for taking this over ..

  18. Hello Marty ~I wanted to stop by to reconnect. I've had a few absences from blogging and have lost touch with some of my friends.

Since winter landed on our provided us the motivation for a few indoor remodeling two homes! Which can be a bit daunting. So, I relish the breaks I get for blog visits.
I too am loving the white in tablescapes... especially dishware.
For my B-day my hubs gave me a white porcelain square dinner set.
He even commented how nice they make the food look.
It's wonderful how sharing blog friends as yourself can be with these beautiful vignettes, that's why I love returning the gesture, by sharing cooking or DIY ideas.
I hope you can stop by so we can reacquaint ourselves.

    Sweet wishes,

  19. I love the look with the white...that throw really adds something to the look of the room. Isn't it fun to change things around?

  31. So glad you let me know you were taking over, Marty! I will have something for next week. I did have something but I reshuffled some posts around. Your whites look wonderful and fresh! I love the cachepot your flowers are in. Good find on the lamp!

  37. Hi Marty,

Love your beautiful tabletops, but I really can identify with the dining room table. My table is my craft table so must of the time it is covered with projects in the making. Have fun with your new blog party. I know you will do great.

    Carey from Chicory Nits

  38. Thank you Marty for the walk through different homes to get new ideas for that special table that you have been trying to change the look of. It is so much fun to see how others decorate. Blessing and good wishes for a wonderful day

  39. Love your white, you always do such a beautiful job, but I have to tell you I took some photos of my dining table last week so I could show my process and it's nice to see someone else do the same, lol!! I will have to participate in this one next week. Glad you are hosting!!

  40. Marty, that white lamp and the shade you picked out are exactly the right touch for that spot!

  41. One of my fav's,white, anything white, chocolate,or black. Love this side-table vignette.
Keeping it real,we are going to get-along just great,I too like keeping it real. It's gonna be fun! Thanks for taking Tabletop Tuesday, I was getting concerned, you are amazing!

  42. I love the addition of white, Marty. Absolutely beautiful!

Didn't get around to getting a post together this week.

  43. Oh Marty, I burst out laughing when I got to your dining room table -- mine often looks like that when I am "table scaping." Sometimes I just take pictures of ONE END of the table, because the OTHER end looks like yours! Ah, reality!

LOVE what you did with the vignette. Your little china gal looks so happy, raised up on her pedestal. Don't we all want to be up on pedestals after all? :-)

Thanks for hosting! I already did a post for today, but I'm doing a second because I can't miss your first week as hostess of this meme. You are the best.

  44. Love the changes you made! The throw looks so soft and inviting. I love how you elevated your little china lady.

I too love white and drool over some of the pictures I have seen lately. I used to have a lot of white in my home but when the boys got to a certain age and with all the critters I typically have running around, I discovered it was way too hard to keep clean. I tucked it all way in my chests and, hopefully, some day I can take them out again. In the meantime, I live vicariously through the white rooms of others in blog land.

    ~ Tracy

  45. Marty...I love you whites..don;t they just make you feel happy? Warning though once you start its hard to stop!!! Hope you are well my dear friend,x0x0x

  46. Marty,
I love your new white table top display. It's a nice change from your old one which was also beautiful. But you really made me laugh with the dining table "vignette!" My table looks just like that now as I "create" my next tablescape!

  47. Marty. You are brilliant.

I don't know how many times I have searched and struggled to find some kind of pedestal to elevate an item. A bowl turned upside down. Really--that is genius!

I like your new white tablescape! I can't believe you got those flowers at Dollar Tree. Just goes to show that you really can put together a pretty vignette without breaking the bank. :)

  48. The white looks marvelous! Well done. Jackie

  49. Hi Marty,
