Met. Monday - Patio Fluffing

Another fun party hosted by Susan @ Between Naps On The Porch. Be sure to visit her for tons of eye candy and inspiration.

Time to clean off the patio and try to make it a fun place to be. Since the patio is right off the familyroom, I wanted to tie the two spaces together with similar colors and decorations.

I brought the same decor outside by making coordinating pillows to the ones in the family room and adding a new rug.

Walls, windows and furniture all got a good washing down.

Since I'm using some wicker in the familyroom, I wanted something to center the table and not a cloth. This is 4 inexpensive placemats that I've taped together on the back and it makes a perfect centerpiece. I've topped it with a glass and iron hurricane and of course the 2 lanterns for the bugs.

Some pillows that coordinate with the inside for the little bench on the other side of the patio and a new rug. The rug was a bargain at $40 on sale for a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.

Now it feels like an extension of the inside. Time for a glass of tea and just enjoy.

Be sure to stop back by for Table Top Tuesday. A Prof. Stager redid my kitchen 3 different ways. Really fun. Hope to see you then.

  1. Hi Marty
I just came for a break from the yard. You have given me some inspiration for our patio remodel. I replanted all the pots that I lost in the freeze yesterday. And, today we(H) are washing and cleaning everything.
I am so glad I looked to see if there was any new blog activity.

  2. Marty, what a great idea for the centerpiece- it's perfect! Very inviting
    xoxo Pattie

  3. Marty~~~

Your patio area looks SO inviting! I love the way the big potted plants give it that tropical feeling and the wicker placemats do as well (neat idea to tape them together). I really love that hurricane lamp, too!

    Happy Sunday! :-)

  4. I love your patio area Marty!
Neat pillows that you made, you talented lady! And the centerpiece is unique and the whole look is so inviting!
Can't wait to see what the stager did, that sounds fun!

  5. Marty, what a wonderful porch! I need to do the same thing you just did - tie my porch and family room together with colors. I love the idea of the placements taped together - I am going to copy that FOR SURE! The textured look is just perfect. Linda

  6. Very pretty, Marty! I'd be quite content to sit out there all day with some magazines, a good book and a pitcher of iced tea.

  7. Marty,
Your patio looks beautiful. Love all the wonderful little touches that made the outside and inside all flow together. You have given lots of ideals. Thanks for sharing

  8. I like the patio being an extension of the living room. Your patio is so inviting, and it really does make you want to sit out an enjoy the weather. Can't wait to see your staged posts.

  9. You know I love that pretty and precious! That rug was a great find for that price!

  10. I love your cozy little patio, Marty! Two Splendas for my tea, or just plain sugar, and I'll rest with you awhile.

  11. Your outdoor space looks so inviting. What a great idea to tape the placemats together, makes a great anchor for your centerpiece. You are so smart!!

  12. Marty, this is SO inviting! I've been waiting for the last of the oak "fuzzies" to fall before cleaning the patio and ceiling fans and furniture. You have so many great ideas in this post -- love the placemat to ground the table decor!

  13. Oh Marty, you sure know how to fluff! What a lovely looking patio, a truly wonderful place sit and enjoy some peaceful outdoor time!

  14. Nice fluffing Marty. Your patio looks wonderfully inviting and I wouldn't mind sittin out there in the breeze with that cushy rug under my bare feet.

  15. It looks great! How nice to have a covered patio! I love the idea of taping together place mats! What a great idea! I will have to use that some time :)

  16. This is so beautiful. I see yours and other patios where you can dine outside and enjoy it so much. We just aren't able to do that here in West Texas. So hot and windy and buggy that it isn't worth even trying.
I love how you brought your inside colors out to your patio. It looks fabulous and you're so smart about the placemats...a great idea.

  17. I just added your comment to my post..reposted so everyone would know how to do the pancakes..thanks so much...

  18. Marty this is wonderful! I love the centerpiece, especially the four placemats put together. I really will want to use this idea on my round table too! Your outdoor dinette set is awesome! I like the bench seat too! You have a very nice patio!

  19. Hi Marty,
Sorry about that little flub with InLinkz. I forgot to set the date. So glad you got are linked. I love this area! Your patio set looking so those roomy chairs. Great centerpiece! Very clever hooking together the placemats for a that idea! :-)
I know you must really enjoy this area this time of year!

  20. Marty, what a great shaded patio to enjoy when it is so very hot. I love your table and chairs and that bench is in the perfect spot. Don't miss out on my giveaway.

  21. Very inviting looking patio! I like the way you taped the placemats together. Do you get to use it during summer, or is it too hot? It's usually too hot to use our lanai during the summer months here in FL. We've had such a cold winter we weren't able to use it as much as we usually do, and our spring has also been chilly and windy :-(

  22. Marty, love the porch!!! I'm working now so I'll see if I can join in on Tuesday. But boy, everyone's busy hosting on blogland!

Glad I got to stop by! Chandy

  23. Looks great! I'd love to sit out there and chat. Everything looks fresh & welcoming.

  24. I am really trying not to buy I am jealous of your wonderful bench on your patio! I remember seeing this before in previous posts and I drool everytime!

    So lovely Marty!

    Bee blessed

  25. Hi Marty! Oh, your patio looks gorgeous! Love your dining set and the placemats do make a nice centerpiece cloth. The hurricane with the candle is so pretty.
I really do like you high backed bench! It's so charming.
Now Marty, I'm hoping you'll come to my party on May 7th!! Please! :)
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  26. Your patio looks great. I love the bench! You are ready for a cookout for sure.

  27. Lovely patio, Marty... a perfect place to wile away the summer days!! Can I join you for tea?! Ha!! :-)

  28. Hi Marty, What a great idea for a centerpiece, especially love how you used your four placemats and put them together. Your bench seat and patio furniture are so nice. I can just imagine sitting on your patio and sipping lemonade on a hot afternoon. Thank you for sharing a bit of your place with us.

  29. Love the flow, living outside as an extension of the inside. What a great idea with those placemats!

  30. Good Morning.

  31. HI Marty,
Your porch looks so inviting and fresh! I love what you've done out there - can I come have a glass of tea with you? Hope you will spend lots of time out there relaxing this spring and summer.
Thanks for being such a loyal friend!
    Have a great week.

  32. You have a welcoming patio, all clean and ready for enjoyment. I like that placemat idea.

  33. What a gorgeous space Marty, I love it. What I'd give to have a patio. I'm living for the moment in an apartment, with only a small deck that isn't private at all. I'm longing for the day to have a small house of my own, with some sort of space outdoors to enjoy as an extension of my home. ♥

  34. Don't you just love this time of year when you can take a glass of ice tea or wine out on the patio and relax?

I love the rug you choose.

  35. It looks very relaxing, Marty! I love your iron hurricane...Christine

  36. Marty, it all looks so lovely.
