2010 Projects in Review

Seems like it was a really busy year last year, but not really any earth shaking projects.  I refinished some patio furniture, and redid the front porch chairs and accessories, then a few things inside.

Most of my projects involved sewing.  I made a gazillion pillows, or it seemed that way.  These are for the winter.

These were some for the summer.

The breakfast table had seen better days after 38 years, 3 children and 12 grandchildren.  Time to refinish. Outside for a good sanding.

Now it is as good as new.

A $1 lamp got a new life.

Now it looks perfect in the living room.

The entertainment center for a little facelift also.  The dark wood in the back of the bookcases didn't show off my "stuff".

I put some white beadboard in the backs of the shelves, and it gave it a whole new life.

Add to that about a million (lol) table top displays and a few tablescapes and that kept me a busy girl.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and thank you to all that joined Anything Goes.  I am still trying to make the rounds, but I will try to visit you all in the next few days.

  1. All of your projects were just great, Marty. I really like the cabinets with the bead board and I know that was a bit difficult. And your pillows are gorgeous. Your tablescapes alone are big projects {as are your flower arrangements}.

Wishing you the best in the coming New Year!

  2. Marty please check your emails..Hugs Gl♥ria

  3. I remember all these great projects Marty! You are still the Pillow Princess, so beautiful and I love all your fabric choices throughout the seasons.

  4. I love that your kitchen table has been through all those kids and grandkids:) That makes me happy. The redo turned out great too.

I love all the pillows. I am a pillow girl. I wish I could sew them like you do. I saw that you have either a heater or an air purifier. If it is a purifier does it help with the dust? We were thinking about getting one.

  5. You sure were a busy girl in 2010 and I love all the projects. Thanks so much for sharing with us Marty.

  6. Loved looking back with you! I'm setting goals and making plans for projects in the coming year. You are an inspiration.

  7. You did such a great job on all those pillows, Marty! I loved seeing all the fabrics you had picked out, too. Your table turned out fantastic and sometimes furniture just needs a little facelift. If I can still use a piece, I'd rather give it a facelift than get rid of it altogether just because it doesn't "look" so good anymore!

  8. You are SO Talented Marty. AND such an inspiration to us all... Every time I see your GORGEOUS pillows it reminds me "I NEED a new sewing machine"!!! I LOVE the bead-board in your cabinet, that was PERFECT... Lots of times I use wallpaper to spice up what I get bored of AND it's easy to change out. I LOVE all your projects, it's SO much fun to visit you!!! Happy New Year, Hugs, Donna

  9. Your breakfast table looks terrific! Our dining room table has been through years of child-raising too so I'm giving some thought to refinishing it and you just gave me the push!

  10. Oh, Marty! You really accomplished a lot! It's hard to pick a fav...they are all amazing! Hope all is well with you! Happy New Year to you and your family!...hugs...Debbie

  11. Marty, you had an amazing 2010!!! I love it all.

  12. You are one clever and crafty girl. Thank you so very much for sharing such great inspiration!

I can't wait to see what 2011 brings.

Have a very Happy New Year!

  13. Isn't it fun to look back and see what a big impact even minor projects can make. I'm hoping you'll link up some of your 2011 fabric projects with me ;). Blessings, Kim

  14. Gosh I love what you did the lamp, it looks amazing. Just shows what you can do with something that someone else has discarded.

I've finally got a cloche (or at least something that will do as one) so looking forward to joining in some of your 'parties' next year.

  15. I remember those beautiful pillows. I have really learned a lot from you about cloches. Never gave their versatility much thought. Wow, you do them beautifully.
Thanks for being such a great hostess this year. Happy New Year, Ginger

  16. The table looks great! I have one too, that is in need of refinishing. The pillows are awesome as well.

  17. Hey Marty,
I found you through three Pixies.

Your makeovers are very pretty. I love the chandelier you got for Christmas. Would you share with me where you found it? I'm in the process of re-doing my kitchen.

    Many thanks either way!

  18. Your projects are all amazing. I love everything you do. Thanks for sharing.

  19. Marty, you certainly did some wonderful makeovers this year. The finish on that table is amazing and I love the beadboard added to the back of your bookcase and of course all your sewing projects are fabulous. Thank you for linking to the party!

  20. Wow! Marty, you are moving right along. I am stuck in December and the Holidays still. NO wonder you are on top of things!:)
Do you mind telling me how you did that tabletop. Mine is in the garage waiting to be sanded and refinished. HOW and what did you put on it. Do you mind writing and telling us how you did that? It looks gorgeous!

  21. Marty, you have been busy! Your projects are all wonderful. I wish I could sew like you so that I could make beautiful pillows like yours. That'll be on my "to do" list for next year. I also love your furniture makeovers...your table re-finish and the addition of the beadboard to the back of your bookcase were great transformations. Thanks for sharing and Happy New Year.

  22. So many wonderful and beautiful projects Marty!
You are one talented lady indeed!
I love what you did to that table!
Hugs Friend and Happy New Year!!!
