Our Christmas Tree is a very traditional, old fashioned tree. It is filled with ornaments that belonged to my Mom and my MIL along with all that I have collected over the last 50 years. They represent my love for the Lord with the Doves and Angels, and my children and grandchildren with all of the toys. Each one is perfect to me.
Of course there's also a picture of my Great-Grandson on the end table.
Since we don't have a fireplace, our stockings are under the tree for now.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I always look forward to your visits.
Hi Marty! Your tree is stunning. I had ours up a few weeks ago. Today I have to take everything off and begin again ... lighting failure!
ReplyDeleteYour tree is really lovely. I love the fact that it is full of ornaments and memories. That always makes a tree more special. Thanks for sharinf.
ReplyDeleteO, yes, Marty...when we begin to add all the LOVE from all the years, our Christmas tree becomes the most beautiful in the world.
ReplyDeleteYours is very pretty...and love your ornaments.
We downsized to a tabletop tree several years ago..when we became OLDEN and too hard for us to lug up to the attic and down again.
I have my little tree loaded down with LOVE, too. :))
See you this afternoon to link up with your fun meme.
hugs, bj
Beautiful tree. I love bringing out all my ornaments and remembering all that they represent!
ReplyDeleteYour tree is beautiful. My tree, though not as lovely as yours, is like that. I collect ornaments all year, as a remembrance whenever we do anything fun. I commemorate every occasion by buying an ornament for my tree, so my tree is full of memories. It's a joy to decorate. It's also quickly becoming a collection of angels as well. LOL
ReplyDeleteHi Marty! What a wonderful memory filled Christmas tree. I think that's the best kind. This past Friday I went over to my Mom's house to help her decorate her tree. I thought it would be hard because we both miss my Daddy so much ~ but in fact it was comforting. We made very special places for his first Christmas ornament when he was a baby, and two ornaments he made way back when he was in 1st grade. Christmas is truly about sharing and creating memories and your tree does it so well!!

Marty, I just love going to others homes during Christmas & looking at their ornaments. I especially love - putting mine on the tree & remembering each one. (p.s. not putting up a tree, just thought I'd go on & prepare you) I will be sharing some photos this week of my home, when I FINISH! Thanks for letting me look.
ReplyDeleteI love everything about it! Our trees are very similar. I like traditional too and I have ornaments from 20 yrs. ago. Beautiful.

I just put up my tree yesterday Marty and now that I see yours I'm thinking I need ones of those beautiful NOEL banners like you have. That wouldn't be hard to make at all. Love it all, it's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAlways the traditional that looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThis year, we skip the Christmas Tree due to environmental reason, that my daughter really are in to.
So, I done half of my gazebo as a sort of...something that reminds a Christmas Tree though. Póh! it's huge so, hard for me to finish at once. And mind you Lady? It's freezin here so, my toes and fingers were numb after 2hrs climbing up & down...
Hope you have and enjoyable week-end and you always give me so much inspiration everytime I peek in here.
See you on Tuesday, Lady M and hugs to you and everyone @Marty's.

ReplyDeleteI gave all of my old family ornaments to my daughter a few years ago... They were the ones she had grown up with and many were purchased just for her....so now I have a very generic and plain tree.... Not too many memories. Yours is so sweet and special....
ReplyDeleteHuggies,
Spencer

ReplyDeleteMy tree is very much like yours Marty. Most of my ornaments are home made or given to us with meaning. I love your tree.
ReplyDeleteMarty, it's just lovely. We have lots in common. I love an old-fashioned Christmas tree, loaded with history. That's what I will always choose.
ReplyDeleteOh Marty, your tree is just beautiful! I personally love that all the ornaments have been collected over time. It makes it all the more special.
ReplyDeleteMarty, love your tree. It reminds me of ours. They are filled with history, memories, and love. I could do a beautiful theme tree with new ornaments, but it wouldn't be mine....no memories. It's funny, I still remember who gave me what ornament, or what trip we were on when I got it, or how old each child was when we got an ornament. Your tree is filled with warmth to me! Linda
ReplyDeleteHi Marty,
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous tree! Isn't it wonderful to decorate a tree when there are so many special ornaments that bring back memories? Very beautiful!

ReplyDeleteBrenda
Marty, I just love your tree! I knew it would be gorgeous and you did not dissapoint! I love that you have such special ornaments too, those really are the best kind. I also really love the stockings under the tree. That was the first thing I noticed and wondered what that was. Ir really is a neat idea, I have never seen that done before but it really looks so good, like a very pretty tree skirt!
ReplyDeleteI love the sentimental touches on your tree! Personally, I think that's what decorating a tree should be about! Your's is gorgeous!

ReplyDelete~Adrienne~
Oh Marty, What better tree is there than one loaded with sentimental value? I'm 46, and when I saw your tree, floods of memories came rushing in from when I was a young girl! It looks just like my dear sweet deceased mother's tree of when my siblings and I were all still at home and enjoying the magic of Christmas. Thanks so much for sharing your precious tree!

ReplyDeleteHi Marty! Your tree looks just gorgeous and I love that you and I seem to be kindred spirits, keeping things fairly simple and familiar when it comes to our trees. I like to experiment in other decor around the house, but for some reason the tree needs to be just filled with nostalgia! I always love coming by here Marty! :-)
ReplyDeleteVanessa
Your tree is so beautiful Marty. Traditional is just my style. I really need more ornaments on mine, but oh well!
