Welcome to the 46th Table Top Tuesday. I am so glad you've joined us and I can't wait to see how you are beginning to redo and recreate all of your vignettes for the new year. Remember, any surface that you can decorate is perfect to link up. We want to see what all you're up to.
With all the Christmas down and packed away, I am loving how much bigger the house seems and I am more than ready for Less is More. lol Let's start in the dining area. I've kept the table and buffet really simple.
Two really tall and stately candlesticks and a floral arrangement in a tin urn. I love to scrunch the table runner for a little drama.
The floral arrangement is just a little bit of everything I had.
The buffet is very simple with my new huge cloche holding an antique clock and two hurricanes.
I placed a berry twig in the hurricane for a little extra punch.
Moving into the living area, I used the same accessories I used before Christmas, just changed them up a bit.
Two family photos and the Bible is all this table needs. While I am enjoying my devotional, I can see my loved ones.
The coffee table holds a tray with some of my favorite decorating books, a urn filled floral arrangement, a decorative box and candles. I scrunched a table topper to add a little softness to all the wood.
The front window arrangement was simplified too.
Paper roses, marble eggs and a Faberge plate was perfect.
I showed you my new little chest that my daughter gave me. Love this piece.
A cache pot of ivy, candle and a little antique dish.
How relaxing to walk into a clean decluttered space. I am loving it. Now I know this is not very sparse to some of you, however if you know me, this is really Less is More for me. lol
Thank you so much for stopping by, I always look forward to your visits and I can't wait to see your beautiful vignettes.

Everything looks so fresh and clean for the new year, Marty! All best wishes for happiness in your beautiful home for 2011!
ReplyDeleteI too am enjoying the fresh clean feel of my home after getting all the Christmas decor packed away for another year. I always enjoy visiting your blog Marty.

My fave of the room: the little springs in your candles. They are perfection!

Hi Marty! Your home is lovely as always! I am trying to pare down some, too...without much success! lol Happy week!...hugs...Debbie
ReplyDeleteOh my, you are way ahead of me! This will be great inspiration for me to get going tomorrow on putting holiday away. Your home looks beautiful. Now I think I'll pare down a little, too!
ReplyDeleteMy house seems cavernous after taking the tree down. I do love how you scrunch your runners. I'll have to try that - it's a nice look. I'll be back later to link up to the party!
ReplyDeleteLove the 'pared down look' Marty - but am I disciplined enough to do it myself?
ReplyDeleteWishing you and yours a happy and healthy 2011.
Best wishes
Rose H
I am so curious, Marty, to know just which books made it into the beautiful tray . . . what are your favorite decorating books. Your home looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteFondly,
Glenda
It looks lovely and fresh. Now come put my decorations away, okay? That's the part of it I just hate!
ReplyDeleteHi Marty...
ReplyDeleteGirlfriend, your home looks beautiful! I sooo admire you and all of your energy...to already have Christmas put up and packed away! I still have everything out but will begin to work on getting it put away this week. I always get such a late start at decorating for Christmas so it hasn't been out all that long!
Anyway, you certainly do inspire me, my friend! I just adore your beautiful home and I loved getting to see your new winter decor! Love, love, LOVE all of your gorgeous vignettes! You have some of the pretties table toppers...I always oooh and aaah over them! Hehe! Ohhh...and I just love your new chest that your daughter gave you...it's gorgeous! Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us, Marty...it's always such a treat!!! And...thank you so much for hosting TTT...love this party!!!
Love ya,
Chari @Happy To Design
Everything is pulled together elegantly, as always. The new chest fits perfectly into the rest of the decor. I'm happy to say good-bye-for-now to my Christmas decorations.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week! La
Yes, I'm relieved to get the holiday decor down. Although some of the plastic boxes still sit on the deck while I look for a place to store them! I like the pared down look, especially in January. Seems to calm me and serenity is what you need after the hustle and bustle of Christmas!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Marty, everything looks clean and fresh. I love the bird lamp and I still want that throw. Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteI always feel like the house is empty and clean after Christmas is put away! Your new little trunk table is wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteYour home is so nice and neat, MArty. I can't wait to have mine in that condition. I will have to wait until after another dinner party tomorrow night....Christine
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous, Marty!
ReplyDeleteMost of our Christmas is put away. We are going to be a couple of slackers and run away to the lake for a few days. We'll finish the dismantle next week.
Everything looks so nice, Marty. I, too, am loving the LESS, for right now. Knowing myself as I do, however, I love a lot of STUFF so it will find it's way to me soon enuf. :))
ReplyDeleteThat chest looks beautiful Marty. It is fun to pair down. Especially after the Holidays. everything feels so fresh and new again. Thanks for hosting, I only have a small tabletop, but nonetheless it is a vignette.
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling like such a slug after seeing all you've got accomplished Marty. Your home looks warm and inviting.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for hosting this party each week!!!
ReplyDeleteMarty, everything looks so pretty. You might even influence me to use less STUFF in the new year, and that's not an easy thing for somebody to do! I love the way you scrunch your runners. When I do that, it looks like it is messed up. When you do it, it looks so elegant. I've loved that pretty lamp with the blue bird painted on it since the first time I saw it. That clock in the big cloche and those pretty candles on your buffet are perfect there. You are the perfect blogger to host Table Top Tues., because your table tops always look so beautiful. Thank you for hosting. laurie
ReplyDeleteI love the new little chest! So far I have Christmas down, but things are really arranged yet on the tables. My dad just left today, so maybe by next week I'll be able to play along!
ReplyDeleteit all looks lovely...
ReplyDeletehugs,
penny
Marty,
ReplyDeleteI could set here and soak up this view for hours! Your home is so inviting and warm. I, also, keep my devotion close at hand. . .no better way to begin my morning On Crooked Creek. Thank you for this inspirational blog and the Table Top Tuesday is my very favorite party ( I mean meme). . .BJ at Sweet Nothings shared it's meaning with me today! You ladies are near and dear to my heart!
Fondly,
Pat
Of Course I always LOVE everything you do, BUT I'm picking a favorite as the "Paper roses, Eggs, and Faberge plate" The bird on the lamp is SO PERFECT with that vignette, he looks So Proud, like those are HIS EGGS!!! LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Donna
Marty, such beautiful vignettes you create! Can you come to my house and make it look as warm and inviting as yours? Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteTammy
Hi Marty, Everything looks so gorgeous!!I love your vignettes.
ReplyDeleteKathy
Hi Marty! The scrunching effect is really cool! I love the berry pick in the candle hurricane - are those coffee beans in there? Nifty!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so good Marty, I have not tried the scrunched up runner but I am thinking Im gonna give it a go and see how it turns out.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely home. I smile when you say the flower arrangement is just a little bit of everything I have. It looks perfect! Such talent! Wishing you the very best in 20ll.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Mary
I totally get the simplicity of decorating. My husband came in last night as I was finishing up taking down the Christmas decor. He said "it is so empty without Christmas"! I haven't redecorated it yet, just enjoying the empty spaces for a few days! Your home is beautiful no matter what season!
ReplyDeleteYour room is one I certainly could relax in. Love the colors. I need a little space to breathe in a room, and I love all your pretty touches.
ReplyDeleteEvery thing is simply lovely! I love your chest! I adore the coffee table! Love the tray with books, when I travel/working I use to use trays on our night stand in the motor home to hold books, magazines and journals. Why did I not think of that here! Oh, 4 grandchildren, everyday, writing, coloring on everything! lol
ReplyDeleteyour home is always so elegant, I love it! Lezlee
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so clean and lovely! Our living room looks huge with the tree gone. I'm sure I'll figure out how to clutter it back up soon :) LOVE that fur throw, is that new? Hope you are having a wonderful start to the New Year Marty. Hugs, Kat
ReplyDeleteThis is my 1st visit to your blog! What a stunning home! Happy New Year, looking forward to more "visits" in 2011!
ReplyDeleteHi Marty,
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Your home is gorgeous, as always. Christmas is pretty, but it is nice to get back to normal, isn't it?
Thanks for letting me be a part of TTT. Have a wonderful week,
Kathy
Oh everything looks so lovely. I especially adore that mink throw and the sweet little chest.
ReplyDeleteMarty, thank you so much for hosting this party every week! Although I don't play along that often, it's a perfect spot for me to stop in for inspiration! Not to mention views of your lovely home give me a lot of great ideas.
ReplyDeleteHi Marty! Everything looks lovely. Want to come over to my house and help me pack up Christmas?
ReplyDeleteLove,
Susan and Bentley
xxoo
Your set up is warm and elegant. Well done.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Marty, everything is just gorgeous!! Thanks so much for hosting! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Marty,
ReplyDeleteEverything looks wonderful. As fun as it is to decorate for the holidays, it's also fun to decorate for the new year too! Thanks for hosting your 46th TT! ~Delores
Loving your home! It always looks so beautiful....and warm and inviting!
ReplyDeleteMarty, you've inspired me today! Christmas is put away at my house but I've not pretty'd it up yet. Learning how to blog is consuming my time! Love what you've done. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLynn at Cottage and Creek
Marty, I love your New Year tabletops! The chunky candles on your dining room table and the hurricane glass condles on your buffet are lovely! The way you "scrunched" your runner really gives your table a designer look!
ReplyDelete~ Susie
Your home is so lovely. I covet the leather tufted wing back chair.......absolutely GORGEOUS!! I also love that you use things that are substantial in your vignettes. Always something beautiful to look at on your blog. My Christmas decorations are still up until the weekend, so nothing to share yet. But thanks for the inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteAs usual, Marty, it all looks just beautiful. I think your pared-down look is great--it's still full enough to be beautiful, but everything looks so CLEAN! You should see my house right now. . . you would definitely NOT think it looks clean. I still need to get all my Christmas things packed away. I'm very slow! But I'll get there. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful day, sweet lady!
I love how bright and comfy your home looks. Just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteA very refreshing place. An ideal place to stay away from the city. Like the neutral colors you did. A job well done!
