Garage sales were very thin this week. I only found one thing.
Fruit is always fun and this box of pears was marked $1. Had to have it even if there were two missing.
Big savings from the original price.
I pulled out a silver tray and placed 3 of them in a row. Love the look.
I liked the yellow splash of color with the pears and it worked with the lemons and apples in the cloche.
I needed some yellow for the corner display.
I just replaced one of the bottles of wine with a frenchy yellow napkin.
Kind of fun and a very simple change for a different look.
Don't forget my Giveaway of these pretty candlesticks. To enter just leave a comment here.

ReplyDeleteI love the three pears, they look fab, Your benches are just gorgeous! very inspiring
ReplyDeleteYou did well!
ReplyDeleteI found an artificial apple at the thrift shop and then explained to my 4 year old Grand daughter that it was fake and not to eat it since apples are one of her favorite foods of all time!
So far she has comprehended Don't Eat!
God bless and may you have a sweet life,
d from homehaven
Marty, you have the prettiest kitchen... good deal on the fruit
ReplyDeletePattie

Marty-Those look so real! We don't have a Home Goods and I SO wish that we did! Your kitchen looks great! I left a little shout out for you in today's post---I have a cloche in it :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever use for a bread tray when it is idle. You come up with the best ideas!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great, as usual! I like the addition of the yellow napkin, too.
ReplyDeleteHi Marty! I just don't know how you do it. Everything just looks so perfect and cozy. Is your house ever a mess? Love the pears, I recently bought lemons and my friend made fun of me and asked if I was still living in the 70's with the fake fruit. It's so realistic these days though and she wouldn't have known if I hadn't told her.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great price. I am a florist and even wholesale the faux fruit is outrageous in price any more. I do fruit wreaths for a large farm every Christmas and always look for the fruit in thrift stores and yardsales to avoid having to buy so much from my wholesaler. GReat buy!!! ~~Sherry~~
ReplyDeleteLove those pears...what a deal!! They look beautiful on your silver tray.
ReplyDeleteGreat find Marty. Love the three pears on the silver. The little spruce ups bring such life to your already gorgeous vignettes.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I love grouping yellow and pale green together, too. I have a question that's been bothering me for some time, Marty...Do you keep your husband totally fenced off from your kitchen??! That's the ONLY way mine would look so pretty! :)
ReplyDeleteI just love how you display on your counter tops. Love the pears!

Your counter display is FABULOUS! I love the way you put everything together. Those pears were a great find. So much nicer than the ones that rot and draw flies! ;-)

ReplyDeleteMarty,
ReplyDeleteThat was a great buy and I would have snagged them up too. There is so much you can do with them! They look wonderful. Thanks for linking up.
Sherry
Marty, what a simple idea, but it looks so pretty - the pears on the silver bread tray. All of your touches of yellow look great. laurie
ReplyDeletePretty pears! The touches of yellow add brightness to a room! I saw some beaded yellow pears at TJ Maxx today, wish I had bought them now! They weren't a dollar though!
ReplyDeleteKatherine
Oh, so picturesque. What beautiful displays. Those pears are a great find. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Marty,
ReplyDeleteyour kitchen worktop vignettes are delightful, especially like the vintage wine bottle holder. The bright yellow napkin really makes the corner pop!
So pretty! I love how the yellow warms things up. Hoping I find some yard sales this weekend. Perfect weather for it!
ReplyDeleteI love faux fruit. I actually love to have real fruit sitting out, but it spoils so quickly that it just doesn't make sense a daily display. You really got a great buy. I have 4 faux pears and I paid $7 each for them!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a deal! I love your kitchen vignettes! Great idea to add the yellow napkin. I wish I had that much counter space so I could have pretty vignettes like that in my kitchen. I don't have enough room to work let alone set up vignettes!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a fabulous weekend Marty!
~ Tracy

Chari

Hi Marty~ I love faux fruit too- I recently purchased two bags of faux veggies and fruit at a thrift store thinking how great they would be for all the tablescapes and tabletop posts! Your cloche filled with your lemons and apples is just fabulous! I love it- it is just fantastic! I love the topiary trees that are covered in apples or lemons, but your cloche is perfect and your entire vignette is lovely~ Thanks for sharing this over at my party this week! Hugs, Courtney
ReplyDeleteOoh Marty...I like your whole counter top vignette!! It is all so pretty and what a great deal you got on those pears!! Hopefully yard sales will start picking back up with spring fast approaching.
ReplyDeleteHope you having a great weekend.:o)
Fondly,
Ann
