The weather has been wonderful, up into the 80's, so it is time to add a little spring. I wanted a quick change, so I did it with just a few pillows. I havn't changed any of the accessories, just fabrics.
I love oranges, golds, yellows, greens and browns, so my winter look had all of these colors, with a lot of chocolate brown to warm things up.
The coffee table vignette worked great for winter and it will still work for spring.
Just a quick change out of some of the pillows, and I have a totally different look.
The brown pillows were replaced with orange and yellow Iris pillows and a plaid.
More orange for these two chairs.
I replaced the fur throw with a silk one for a lighter look.
Bright and cheery and looks like spring.
Just replacing the brown pillow made such a difference.
All the same accessories on all the tables.
The dining table vignette stayed the same also, I just replaced the scarf.
Love the orangy/yellow of this scarf.
So if you use the same colors all the time, you can change things up from one season to the next with just a few pillows for a totally different look.

Hi Marty! I love the idea of using new pillows and accessories to freshen up the room and give it an entirely spring REfresh! I've been getting inspired to do this with my master bedroom and just may get it done tonight. You really pushed my Inspiration button! I'm thinking of going from jewel tones to baby blue and white...that will definitely be a swap, won't it? Let's see if I can pull it off and still keep my animal print alive in there. ;) Hugs friend...have missed stopping by to see you. I've been on a marathon blog spree this weekend trying to catch up and I've been in bloggy heaven.

HI Marty! I was looking at the bones of the decor in your room and you have so many options! You basically have a neutral palette in warm creams and browns. You are right that a quick change of pillows makes a mood change instantly. If you had all cream and shades of tan and brown it would become quite formal. You have a cheery mix in the room~so nice for spring.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteMorning girl...I sooooo love those pillows on your couch!!!! Those iris ones are glorious Marty...everything is such beautiful eyecandy...I love how you just have so many pretty corners to look at in the room....like in a great magazine...makes me smile just looking at it..have a great week sweetie...Picket
ReplyDeleteWow, you're good Marty. It looks totally transformed for Spring. I love it...as usual.
ReplyDeleteEverything is always so BEAUTIFUL Marty! I LOOOVE the floral arrangement with the Magnolias!

What a wonderful illustration of how a few accessory changes can create an entirely new atmosphere in a room! It also reinforces the adage that 'the design is in the details.'
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Marty! Thank you for sharing...
Everything looks beautiful and springy. You were wise to go with a neutral sofa so you can easily change out pillows. Unfortunately I was not that wise. Well, at the time it was my taste to pick a yellow and red plaid sofa but I've learned a lot about decorating since. The color and pattern definitely limit what I can do!
