I still have a lot of baking to do, but today I really wanted to get 3 different batches of cookies done. So I am full on in baking mode.
Do you mess up the entire kitchen when you start baking. I use every square inch of mine.
I have two more batches to make, so everything is just left out so I can start all over again.
These are ready to go in the oven. This is when I really miss not having two ovens. Oh well, I am thankful that I have ONE.
Ok, this is half of the first batch, these are Chocolate Crackels, they are my kids favorites, so they always go fast.
Next I am making black and white brownies and snowball cookies. Tomorrow I have to make 2 pies, so I better get my act in gear and finish this.
How's you baking going? I hope you are ahead of the game, or at least enjoying it.
Marty, I am done baking. My husband doesn't eat a lot of sweets, so I didn't make a lot for us to eat. And I made everyone at the party last week take a tin of cookies home with them.
ReplyDeleteMonday marks the beginning of goodies week! I have candies, cookies and a cake to do. My kitchen will be messy all week, no doubt about it.
ReplyDeleteI have done a few batches as needed but next week will be "The Big Bake" with the breads & pies!!
ReplyDeleteLove your creations!!
Happy Holidays !!
Marilyn
Hi Marty, his time tomorrow I will be covered in flour and who knows what else! Cookies, pies and tarts to be baked. And yes, I also use up every piece of real estate in the kitchen when I bake. Not to mention the kitchen sink looks like a war zone when I am done!
ReplyDeleteBut y'know what? I love every minute of it :)
Have a great weekend ♥
I have joined my 2nd blog online, blessing to you Marty. "Cloches" got me here, I'm in a spin :D over them. As for baking, I've never done it in my life, I'm not a sweets person, but I got so inspired from your blog, it warmed my heart at the idea of baking cookies, plating them on a $ Store glass plate, wrapped in cellophane and ribbon and just give them to neighbors.....I think I'll do it :D, I just need a simple simple cookie recipe? Blessings, Lady.
ReplyDeleteYou have a lot going on and I must say, it looks like you are so organized even with your baking...Good job!
ReplyDeleteMy grandson came over today and we baked cookies. I let him do most of it on his own-there was two inches of flour on the floor and cabinets!I sent them all home with him so I won't be tempted.
ReplyDeleteThose cookies look yummy, Marty!
ReplyDeleteOh wow Marty.. those looks so good.
ReplyDeleteWe arent baking till saturday but all my fruit is cut and I have my needed items together in one large basket. We'll be giving our stove a real workout.
I plan to share my 23 year secret recipe cake monday night for tues tablescape.. I figure I better finally tell, ya know, just in case lol..
now, could ya pass me 2 r 5 of those crackle cookies, please:)
Marty, you look very well organized and those cookies look yummy.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy.

Sissie
Those do look good. No baking here. My daughter is bringing desserts. I did not even make some candy this year - don't need the temptation sitting around.
ReplyDeleteOh, Marty! Those cookies are the ones my daughter was working on when I left her house in Milwaukee yesterday. She is on her first day alone with the new baby and 2 year old. But, when she got home, she wanted to bake. I love these cookies~ xo Diana
ReplyDeleteUmmm...by the way- YOUR kitchen looks SOOO much better than my own does when I am baking! I make a REAL mess! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI just got my cookies baked today! I think alot of people have been baking today too. It was very dreary outside, so I decided it was the perfect time. Your cookies look yummy! I know your family will enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteI'm just starting, don't make many, but a few recipes from my Mom. I was eyeing your kitchen, you seriously have a lot of counter space. Wow, I wish I had that much. Your counters are so clean, when I bake there's flour everywhere. Must come in handy when you do cook/bake. Got to go, have baking to do.
ReplyDeleteMarty I haven't even started yet but that's all I'll be doing tomorrow and Sunday. Your cookies look so yummy Marty, wish I could reach in and grab one:) Happy baking! Martina
ReplyDeleteI am only doing one pound cake this year as opposed to five from previous years. I am tired and have guests coming. I am cooking a casual Christmas brunch, very southern, for six. That will be fun and I am looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteMy Mom made those every year for Christmas, I love how they crackle.
ReplyDeleteLooks yummy! I baked a little the other day just for me and the little ones. We have so much more to do down in Texas!
ReplyDeleteoops forgot to add my kitchen is always messy during and after baking LOL I do clean up as I go though.
ReplyDeleteI know this is weird but I don't bake because noone would eat it! Except ME!!!!!!!! LOL. XO, Pinky
ReplyDeletehi Marty - you are so organised! those cookies look great. hope you have a lovely christmas
ReplyDeletecheers Fiona
Hi Marty,
ReplyDeleteYour cookies look wonderful and so does your kitchen! I just finished making 2 batches of cookies tonight w/my son's girlfriend and had so much fun w/her~felt like I was back in high school I was acting so silly w/her!
Yes, we made a HUGE mess all over my 8ft. island! But it was worth it!
Merry Christmas!
Tanya
Hi, Marty. Thanks for being a regular visitor and your consistent sweet comments. Speaking of sweet--I sure hope to see a recipe or two in a post in the near future. Those chocolate crackel cookies look yummy! Blessings to you. ~Zuni
ReplyDeleteYour cookies look wonderful! We did a bunch of baking last week and shipped it off. Tomorrow we are doing a little more, but not much. Christmas cards are out(95% of them) and tomorrow we should finish those up. One last shipment of gifts on Monday and then comes last minute stocking stuffers and wrapping(the fun part!) Looking forward to cleaning the house next week because things are everywhere!
ReplyDeleteI will be right over after I finish my gingerbread men and taste those cookies...yummy
ReplyDeleteI don't bake much. We made our annual Biscochos cookies last Saturday and this Saturday we are making tamales! I do still have to bake some pumpkin bread as that's my daughters favorite.
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen still looks wonderful even with all your cooking supplies everywhere. I bet it smellls beautiful!
Come over to my place and I will show you messy baking! I'm terrible when it comes to keeping things tidy when I am baking or cooking!
ReplyDeleteThe cookies look great! Next on list is baking the breads I do every year- just got the 500 newsletters and our donor ornaments addressed and ready for post office.
Will be in Az for Christmas-
bee blessed

I'm saving my cookie baking until this week when I have my full house of girls home. I love to bake cookies, and baking with them is an extra bonus, even thought they are all grown up.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I make a royal mess all over the place when I do it. I'm a messy cook.
Yum! They look so good! Grace and I will begin baking on Monday! She mostly enjoys the decorating part so there is sure to be sprinkles and icing everywhere! : )
ReplyDeleteWishing you a sweet Christmas Day and a blessed 2012!
Love,
Sue
You know, Marty, I don't think it matter how big the kitchen is, baking just takes over whatever space you have. I've gotten some finished but have more to do.
ReplyDeleteHappy baking!
