Always love the before, so here is mine. This is what the bathroom looked like before, definitely builder basic bland, Hate the look of that slab mirror. I had already replaced the strip lights above the mirror, and painted the room with a soft camel color, so we had a little bit of a start to go from. The shower curtain is from our previous house. Re-using what I had.

Then I showed you this fabric that I think I will make a new shower curtain out of, but in the meantime, I just refreshed what I already had. Turns out this fabric is a much darker turquoise background that the picture shows, (I ordered it from Fabric.com), so I have to repaint since my current pale camel color doesn't look very good with this fabric. So, I have to think about this one for a while.

In the meantime, working with what I already had going on, seemed like a great option, so I forged ahead.
I found a fabulous large wood framed mirror, with a lovely beveled mirror inside. The frame has such a pretty finish on the wood. Striations of a honey color, darke walnut and a slight striation of gold. Beautiful and so rich looking in person.
You can see the finish on the mirror better in this pic. I bought a new towel holder and dispenser. I already had the soap dish and tissue holder.
Same monkey print that I had originally in here, but I did remove the corbel and brought in a large vase with twigs and grasses, plus a few feathers.
For now this is a great redo for $58. The mirror was $39.95 and the accessories included the dispenser, towel holder and a new toilet brush holder were $18. I found them all at Ross.
If I decide to use the turquoise fabric, then that will create a whole new look again.
Thanks for stopping by, I always look forward to your visits.

Marty, the mirror made a huge difference!
ReplyDeletePretty mirror! It goes so nicely in the room. I love that you hung the shower curtain to the ceiling. It really draws your eye up. Looks great!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks just lovely Marty! The mirror is so beautiful and really does freshen it up and that fabric is gorgeous and will make the perfect shower curtain. :-) Thanks in advance for sharing this with us at Inspiration Friday!
ReplyDeleteVanessa
Nicely done, Marty! Changing the mirror made a big difference; that's why I'm hoping to do the molding kit around ours. I like your shower curtain up high like that. Now I have to go look at ours and see if the rod is attached in place or if it is a tension rod. It was here when we moved in. Although, I did already buy a second shower curtain that I couldn't resist on clearance at TJ Maxx for $5.00! I'm thinking of doing a Summer look and a Winter look with the two I have now. Maybe you could do that with your new fabric one, too.
ReplyDeleteI love it. I think I need you to come over here and help me with my rooms now.
ReplyDeletelooks great Marty.. that mirror was a good deal at that price.
ReplyDeleteyou always make rooms so pretty.
I thought your bathroom was lovely before, but love it even more after! I think I may have that same light fixture over the mirror. I'll have to check it out. I'm also going to be redoing some bathrooms in the near future. It's not a done deal, but I may be getting a new home and I plan to do a lot of remodeling!
ReplyDeleteThe mirror makes all the difference Marty.
