In 2013 I Want To -- - --

There are so many things I want to do for this new year, so I thought if I made a list, I could try to get more done.

First -   I really want to spend more time with my blogging friends.  They are such a fun group of ladies and I always have so much fun when we are together.

Second - I definitely have to lose some weight.  I hate toting around all this extra poundage.  It wears me out.  So I am going to look at this pic for inspiration.  I need to take off 30 lbs., so wish me luck.

Third - - - I really need to get back into exercising.  As I get older and older, the body needs to keep moving.  Maybe I will join the gym again, but definitely start walking a LOT.
Fourth - -  Eating more healthy is another goal for this year.  Why is it that I love fried foods, pasta, bread,  sweets and chocolate so much.  Really need to munch on those veggies more.

Fifth - - - I want to be more frugal and save more money this coming year.  I am going to make a budget that is realistic and see if I can stick to it.  One thing I read that is a good idea is to give yourself an allowance for just fun stuff.  That I really need to do, then I will have to be more selective about what I buy.  I am starting small and vowing to save another $100 a month.  Surely I can do that.  (If I do that will pay for a fun little weekend getaway at the end of the year.)

Ok, now that I have it all down on paper, let's see if I can make it happen.   So how about you, what are your goals for the new year.

  1. So far I haven't made any resolutions, but I will -just so I will have something to give up for Lent. LOL.

  2. That's an ambitious list Marty! Good luck to you as you start out 2013 on your path.

    I haven't set New Year's Resolutions in years. By the end of January or early February, I'm tired of the resolutions (like most people) and they get taken off the list. I do set a WORD for the YEAR and this year, it is PERSEVERE. I have a button on my side-bar all about that WORD. That seems to work best for me. Now, if I want to set a specific goal, I write it all out - being VERY specific...and I do have 2 of those. LOL!!

    Fun with your bloggie gals should be the one thats easiest and the most enjoyable..

    Goals keep us moving forward and striving, so they are a Good Thing:)

    I don't make any then I don't feel bad when I don't reach them...

    I as well need to get back to weight watchers and loose 30 lbs..that seems to be the magic number.

    So good luck and here's to us getting back on track!!

  5. Marty, your goals sound so much like mine. I definitely need to lose at least 20 to 30 pounds. Must get back to walking, but when it got cold and dark when I get up I quit. If it was warm here I would still be at it. I hate using the treadmill, but do have one that is collecting dust.

  7. Great resolutions. Each year around this time my husband and I sit down and do some goals together. They can including things from budgeting to doing some bigger house projects. I think when you write things down you are more accountable for them. Good luck to you and happy new year.

  8. Sounds like we have some of the same goals. I always see how heavy a ten pound bag of potatoes feels when you pick it up. Imagine carrying that around. No wonder we feel tired. Good luck my friend!!

  10. Hi there! We certainly have the weight issue in common. I could drop thirty to forty pounds and feel terrific. I cycle too much, lose ten pounds, fifteen pounds .. and proceed to gain it back. I love every bad thing I shouldn't - in terms of food. I want 2013 to be a good year!! SOOOOOO I re-upped my health club membership and I began an on-line video check in with myself every night before bed. I just turn on my web cam and talk for a few minutes. I want to do this every night I am at home. If anything it will be interesting to look at all of the videos this time next year. Wishing you luck, wishing me luck.

  11. I absolutely agree, you have to write them down and sharing is also a good incentive. I think most of us do the weight-loss goal, but this time, The Man and I started about 3 months ago. We are doing a low-carb (very, very low), and I'm half-way through my goal of losing 30 lbs. It's probably the easiest diet we've ever tried, and it has been amazing that the fewer carbs we eat, the less we want. We actually gave ourselves permission to eat whatever we wanted on Christmas Eve and Day, but shortly after Christmas morning breakfast, we were both ready to toss the carbs and get back on track. The carbs made us feel awful.

  13. Great resolutions dear Marty...I specially love the one you want to see your blogging friends more..wish I could too!! Losing weight is not so difficult, I often cut carbs and that's it! Now I'm into it cause I ate a lot during this past holidays. Good luck and much blessings, sweet lady.

  14. You do have some great plans for the New Year. I especially relate to the one about being more selective about what I buy. I need to save that extra hundred every month. I went way over budget last year. I don't make a list for the year, but set goals for each day. It seems easier that way for me. Happy New Year! May all your wishes come true!

    All of your first ones are so important for good health!!! I'm sure you will far exceed your own expectations!!! You have so~o~o many strenghts that you can draw from to obtain your goals!!!
    I agree that connecting and re~connecting with friends is a HUGE priority on my list this year, too!!!

  18. One thing I do do a lot of is walking , I love to walk with my Miggs . This year I want to get into sewing with my machine and make aprons . I am designing my own Country Kitchen Recipe book on the computer and of course just keep on with my photography ! Biggy one here I am on my way to being an ex smoker .   19. I need to lose at LEAST 10 pounds and know I can do it, if I REALLY try. I like to walk but HATE to when it is cold. But we have a gym here so I am going to USE it. I try to limit any junk food but snacking at night is my downfall. Usially cheese and crackers, I am not a sweets person. I know you can do it, I will be rooting for you!!!!!!!!!! XO, Pinky

  23. Those all sound like some really good goals to have. I couldn't agree with the body in motion thought more. I work on my feet all day and move constantly so I don't exercise, otherwise I too would put on the pounds. I hope you do get to spend more time with your sweet blog friends as well!

  25. Good for you making goals and working toward them. I didn't make any resolutions except the same one which I make every year, which is to lose the weight I gained over the holidays, plus 10 lbs. more.

  26. Love your goals. Mine are similar. I need to start saving more (money market, etc) Just positive things to move in the right direction and keep me feeling positive! Love your new header!!! Happy New Year Marty!!

  27. Those are great goals Marty, I know you can do it!! But you don't look like you need to lose weight! I would love to drop 25pds this year, thinking of joining Weight Watchers!

  29. Can't wait to have my second knee replacement this month so I can start walking again. It is something that I love doing that has been too painful for several years. I am hoping that will help to take off the 20 pounds I need to lose. I am already eating better. I am gluten free and I juice every morning. It has dropped my blood pressure back down to where it was when I was a teenager. Good luck with your goals.

    Sounds like a great list. I have been on a diet (cutting back the calories) since Nov.1 and it's working good...wishing you luck:) Hope this new year will be a good one for you.
