This shelf in the breakfast room is such a favorite piece and I love to change things up a bit. While it is definitely substantial, the actual shelf space is not very deep, so I have to find narrow things to fit on it.

This shelf has previously had some color in the accessories, but white seems to be what I am craving. I thought a few of my new little potted plants that I've been making with white and wicker would be perfect for the season.

Hi Marty, it is as always a pleasure to peep into your lovely home. I have noticed your picture of the praying man before- I just love it, it is so solefull, and it is even more beautiful now that I know for how long it has been part of your life.
ReplyDeleteMarty, your shelf looks great! I love your fat rooster! He's adorable...you are so talented! I love looking at how you've arranged things.

Me too, Marty. I did the very same thing yesterday above my kitchen cabinets. I replaced most of the colorful pieces with shades of white ... some crisp, some weathered, some chippy ... & I love it. It was just the lighter look I was wanting. Your white pieces are beautiful, as is the whole look. Oh, & the praying man, I love that picture. It's hung in the home of several people that I love, so it hold a very special place in my heart. Blessings~
ReplyDeleteMarty, Everything looks so pretty with your addition of white! I'm sure it will be feeling much cooler in your house in the summer heat with all your white!
ReplyDeleteYour shelf looks great, Marty! I adore the little bee skep. The whites look great and I like the transferware plates and picture too. Such an interesting story about the picture frame!

It looks very nice Marty. I like that long shelf and the sweet decor you've added to it. I had no idea one of those old frames looks like that underneath! Amazing. Thanks for the tip. Blessings, Pamela
ReplyDeleteLove the look of your white accessories with the dark wood shelf. It all looks great.
ReplyDeleteWhite is always fresh and pretty. Your shelf is always so pretty. Funny, I see your diningroom and it seems like home. Familiar. Nice.
ReplyDeleteWhite for summer makes everything look fresh. My aunt and uncle have the same praying man print by their kitchen table. I've always admired it.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty Marty...I love the new fresh look. I have always loved that piece and wish I could find something similar. Makes for such great displays that you can change out all year round, as you do:) Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteMarty,
ReplyDeleteSimply divine, crisp, fresh white!!!
Saw on the weather station that your area is really heating up this week!
The white is refreshing! The mix of the green keeps this cool palette from becoming to stark.
I adore the play of textures and patterns!!! Brilliant vignette!!!
Fondly,
Pat
