Living Room - Little by Little

Well, I am itching to change a ton of things in the living room this year, but for now just some really deep cleaning and creating a few new vignettes.

I started with the coffee table, it seems to be the center of attention, so it is always fun to play with.

I am still mixing metals with my silver and gold.

Adding a couple of marble orbs always adds interest.

These are my favorite hurricanes, love these.

I am using my silver after Christmas tray that I bought from "Tar-Jay".  $14.24.  Such a great find and  price.

A beige and silver scarf adds a little softness to the table.

Done and a fun change for now.

  1. I am super, super jealous of that tray! I love mixing metals, too. And that Paris bottle is awesome. I agree on the coffee table being the first to be redecorated. It's always where I start too and sees the most frequent changes. Have a great weekend & Happy New Year!

  2. I like it. I dream of scaping my huge coffee table. 2 words help it illude me for a little while longer...teenage boys. lol

  3. Beautiful! I love the combination in the hurricane vases. To me the coffee beans feel masculine and the branches feel feminine.

  4. It all looks lovely. Our oldest granddaughter is crazy about Paris. We gifted here with a theme of Paris gifts this Christmas including a big Eiffel Tower statue. She would love that bottle. Thank you for sharing at the Thursday Favorite Things blog hop xo

  5. Hi Marty! I love the look and those marble balls are so pretty. Well, I'm eyeball deep in tubs and boxes of Christmas decorations! I thought I decorated with a lighter touch this year! :)
Be a sweetie and Happy New Year,
    Shelia ;)

  6. So pretty.Love the candle holders and the coffee beans inside looks so lovely.Happy New year to you and to your family.....:):)

  7. Very pretty Marty. I still have Christmas up until the 6th... but I have been tweaking as the days go by...

  8. So pretty Marty. I love the coffee beans with the candles that is so clever and looks so great. Happy New Year.

  9. Love that Paris bottle. You have such a lovely home. I always enjoy seeing your cute arrangements. Hope your foot is better, and Happy New Year!

  10. I love it Marty. You're way ahead of me- still de-Christmasing here! I like the silver tray and the candles with the coffee beans.

  11. Always enjoy your beautiful vignette posts - you certainly have a knack for them Marty.

  12. Very pretty, Marty! Thank you for joining the Open House party. I truly appreciate your friendship and support and wish you a blessed 2014.

  13. Oh Marty, I still have to come up with a gorgeous tray like yours...I just don't have that special charm you do, to mix so many different elements! Thank you for always inspiring us sweet lady! Again, thank you for everything, for all you support and generosity! Happy New Year!

  14. Very pretty Marty. I am planning on painting a floor clock, the guest bedroom furniture and possible the entry table. We have moved some furniture around too.

  15. We're just now starting to take down the Christmas decorations, so no new projects, yet. I love your hurricanes, too, and that gorgeous silver tray. Nice coffee table vignette. Are those coffee beans in your hurricanes?

    1. Yes, I love using coffee beans and they also smell so good.

  16. Tar-jay. Love it! =) I'm switching things up too. Once the holidays are over I like to move things around and shop the house. One of my resolutions - which I seem to make every year - is to stop buying stuff we don't need. So I'll be shopping my house for quite a while!

  17. Very pretty Marty! I love the marble orb in there too.
    Happy 2014!

  18. I also love silver these days....used to be a time when I didn't want any hint of metal or glass in my d├ęcor, go figure! And that Paris bottle, what a great combo of sophistication (mercury glass) and rustic luxe (burlap and aluminum)! Where did you get it?
    xoxo Kathleen

  19. I love that mercury glass Paris bottle, Marty! I started in my living room, too, once I got the decorations put away. A couple of new vignettes on the tables and I've decided to change up my lamps' shades. I'm hoping to get to them over the next couple of days. I'm also hoping to start organizing and purging a little bit. With the snow we are getting {and forecast to get} I should have plenty of inside time to get to it!

  20. I love your pretty vignette, Marty! That tray is fabulous & I'm sure it's going to be a well loved piece. I love the mix of metals, too.

  21. Love that mercury glass and burlap (?) jug! I haven't put my Christmas away yet - we usually like to keep it up until epiphany. But, like you, it's always fun to begin the new year with a fresh start - and what's better than a beautiful vignette?

  22. I've been working on my living room decor, too. All I have left coffee table! ;-)

  23. Looks terrific, Marty! Love the hurricaines too!!

  24. Lovely! I really like how you used the scarf under everything else - so pretty. I'm visiting from the Imparting Grace link party.

  25. I love your new tray Marty and what a pretty vignette too!
We are getting Christmas stuff down and now it looks pretty bleak.
I need some inspiration, thanks for sharing.
Hugs and Happy New Year friend,
It's going to be minus 30 to minus 50 with the windchill next week.
Record breaking and scary too. I need to get to Phoenix.

  26. What a beautiful vignette. I hope to be changing up my bookcases with a different display soon. Thanks for sharing at TTF!

  27. Marty,
Love, LOVE, L O V E this simplistic vignette to begin the New Year, dear friend!!!
The softness of the hue of your scarf is perfect for Winter!!!
    Me...what am I up to...time will tell!

  28. Gorgeous Marty. I'm mixing the silvers and golds too. It is perfect in winter isn't it? Bringing some reflective light into our living spaces. Happy New Year to you dear, DEAR Marty.
    Blessings & hugs,

  29. You've really inspired me with your vignettes Marty and I've tried my hand at a few. Hopefully I can get some decent light to take a picture and share with you. Happy New Year!
