Seems like it takes forever sometimes to finish a project. When I showed you my Breakfast area makeover , I still had chandy shades on order. They finally came and I really like them. They totally change the look of the chandy.
This is what came with the chandy, not bad, but not my style. Just a little too country for my taste. I totally love this chandy, I was looking online at it a few years ago and didn't know that my son copied down the information . He surprised me with it. So it is very special to me.
Much better don't you agree, but maybe a little trim would make them even better.
This area is finally all done - (oops I just noticed the kitchen island, I need to paint that too ) Next up is the Living Room and Dining Areas. I still have tons of painting to do before those new floors go down.
If you missed the family room makeover, you can see that here.
You can still link up to Inspire Me. So much to see so check a few things out.
I am joining the following parties.
You have been very busy!!!! Love the new chandy shades....very pretty!

Love the new lampshades. I think they look really good like they are but trim would also be cute. Such decisions. Everything looks great. You have done a great job of decorating. It is beautiful and cozy at the same time.
ReplyDeleteVERY pretty. I love the clean lines of the shades, as they are. i would leave them be.

I'm a huge fan of the drum shade so I totally love your new chandy look Marty!
ReplyDeleteThey're perfect Marty!
ReplyDeleteYour breakfast area is beautiful, and the chandy is the icing on the cake - love it! Thanks for linking up at the Vintage Inspiration Party!
ReplyDeleteLove the new chandy and your choice of shades too! You've been busy!
ReplyDeleteYou never slow down, Marty! I love the chandy and I have to ask you a question. When I bought my chandy it didn't have shades and the plastic "candlesticks" are quite short. Can I buy taller ones somewhere so I can add shades? Do you know where? I would be so grateful if you could help.

Love the new chandelier shades Marty. Very pretty. Whether you leave them as is or bling them up with some trim they are gorgeous and finish your breakfast make over so nicely.

I love the new shades, Marty! They are perfect on that chandy.
ReplyDeleteThe shades just finished your room off perfectly...they are beautiful and classic!...So love the makeover Marty...Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThe new shades really change the personality of the chandelier don't they! I think they look great. I guess you could use paper clips to quickly attach some trim and see if you like it. Good luck with all the painting you still have to do. Did you decide on how you are going to do the flooring near the kitchen?
ReplyDeleteYes, I have decided to bite the bullet and put the hardwoods in the kitchen too.
DeleteIt truly is amazing how one little detail can change the whole look of something. I adore the new shades. I like the clean look. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteYour light is lovely! Not many guys tune into what we like when shopping. Your son is pretty special! Thank you for sharing it at What We Accomplished Wednesdays. Blessings, Deborah
ReplyDeleteMarty, I really like the clean, fresh look of the new shades too. It's all in the details!
ReplyDeleteI liked the shades painted with the cheetah print! But the plain white is nice too.
ReplyDeleteMarty, the new shades are perfect! Clean. fresh. Stylish!

I knew you would choose those shades, Marty and they look fabulous! I like them plain right now, but some one suggested paper clipping trim to try it out - would love to see it. Jane
ReplyDeleteI love those shades Marty.....they are perfect in the room.
ReplyDeleteWow, your dining room is beautiful! Love the shades.
ReplyDeleteMarty, just wanted to tell you that I used your apple with the gold stem and leaf idea, but used a wooden apple. You can see it on my Pinterest page at https://www.pinterest.com/sweetdreamschil/ on my "ongoing projects" board. When I sprayed the stem some of the gold leaked through (thought I had it covered good with painter's tape) but the results I'm really liking so I didn't paint over it.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your new floors! Always look forward to your posts in my e-mail.

The shades look great.. simple and classic! I love all the changes you have made!!
ReplyDeleteThose look nice, Marty. They look fine like they are, but if you add trim I would just try a simple neutral flat trim.
ReplyDeleteLove your new chandy shades, Marty! I like how they look with your drapes in the background and the colors you have going on. I think they suit the chandelier, too. I like that they are plain - it allows the chandelier to stand out over the shades.
ReplyDeleteI need to do pretty chandy shades like yours to mine one day. I adore shades and yours are fabulous Marty!
ReplyDeleteI love the overall shot, it's simply gorgeous!
Thank you for your sweet comment dear Marty!
