My laundry room is really a hall that leads from the garage to the house, plus it has to pull double duty as a place for my craft things, the second refrigerator, and currently unused decor storage. Wow, that's a big order for such a small space.
Standing in the hall, (it's hard to get a picture), you can see the fridge, and washer/dryer on the left with a wine cabinet and white craft cabinet on the right. Definitely not room for anyting else.

This is a really old fridge and my washer/dryer are old too, but they all funcion beautifully, so I am not getting rid of them yet. The fridge has a collage of pictures of my grands that always gives me a smile when I see them.
I need storage, so above the fridge is a great place for my little wooden childs wagon. It holds my dad's old toolbox full of sunflowers. There's also a few other accessories not currently in use.
The cabinets above the washer/dryer store some of my pitchers and roosters not in use.
I love my W A S H knobs on the doors. So fun.
On the right side as you enter, you see a small wine cabinet, it holds a few bottles we have for company dinners and even more accessories that I need to store when not in use in the rest of the house. Next to that is a cabinet that holds my sewing machine and craft supples.
I have a ton of things on the walls that mean something to me, just no where else to hang them. These are all things that I have fond memories of finding with a dear friend or things my mom and I made, such as the quilt blocks.
My collection of old irons is on the craft cabinet.
More memories on the wall. I think I just about covered every square inch.
The wine cabinet not only holds wine, but it's a great place to roll up placemats that you aren't using and slide them into the wine slots.
I am joining the following parties:
I love your laundry/craft room. My laundry room is part of my master bathroom. The washer and dryer are hidden behind folding doors. Nowhere near as lovely as your space.
ReplyDeleteYup, storage for cleaning supplies and tools! Love that yours also sort of doubles as a decor stash Marty! That way it always looks pretty!
ReplyDeleteOh goodness our laundry room is an everything room as well only not anywhere as pretty as yours Marty! It is mostly for the kids school stuff and sports gear plus it's the space where the dog and cat eat. That room is on my list of rooms to address this year! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
XO Barbara
Marty,
ReplyDeleteI love the decor in your laundry room, dear friend!!!
My laundry is a double closet with bi~fold doors!!!
With the addition of every birthday, I'm more pleased that it is on the upper level!!!
Fondly,
Pat
I think to have all your happy memorabilia around you when doing the task of laundry, that's brilliant.
ReplyDeleteMy laundry room is just a hall connecting garage to house as well and it is super skinny. I have my W/D (new front loading which I love) on top of two matching "drawers" to elevate the W/D - where I keep my little stool I made years ago, and all my "rags" for cleaning, painting,. etc. and extra laundry soaps, etc.
I have two large wall cabinets that house things like lightbulbs and bleach, etc. I have one single normal sized floor cabinet with a sink, and that's all there's room for in there. I would have loved them to design the house with a smaller master bath (mine is stupid big when the laundry room on other side is stupid small.) Oh well. I'm never changing it, just know that a woman' never designed it that way, haha.
Thanks for sharing your space. I have really not shown enough of my house, it's not easy to get decent pictures with lighting, time, energy, etc. is it? Well YOU do but I don't haha. Hugs, Have a wonderful weekend.
As a matter of fact my laundry does double or triple duty! And right now mine is a mess. You have inspired me to do better. I have a china cabinet, and old family pew, washer & dryer, as well as dyson and dusting stuff. I need cabinets like yours! Sheila E
ReplyDeleteI love my little laundry room with my fold-out rack from Ballard's and the four 42" cabinets we had installed. All my Christmas Dishes are stored along with glassware and laundry necessities.
ReplyDeleteYour wine cabinet looks perfect in its new space, Marty.
ReplyDeleteWow Marty that little space does gives you a lot of wonderful storage. I like all your decor in there.
ReplyDeleteKris
Marty, your laundry room is full of wonderful things. I love the mix of primitives...it really distracts from the mechanical components. And my laundry rooms is one of my favorite rooms. We remodeled it two years ago. I have it on my Pinterest board that is titled "Around The Cottage". Thanks for sharing yours. hugs!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it, Marty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have made that laundry space into a most beautiful and well organized area...beauty and function. Love you collection of the antique irons...especially that blue one!
ReplyDeleteTalk about a multi purpose room, great way to get all the stuff you need........wine too, into your space, happy sunday
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Marty, you are so organized!! My laundry room is also the pantry, pass through from outside and we have mis-matched shelving up to the ceiling and every square inch is packed with jars, dishes, coats, shoes, light bulbs, tools, you name it. It really looks bad and does not function well either. Yours looks great and I love your iron collection especially:-)
ReplyDeleteI love your little laundry room - it lives large and does it in style! Your display of special items that you love, but see no longer using elsewhere is a charming idea. My laundry room is tiny as well and always a challenge to keep organized! Jane
ReplyDeleteI love your laundry room and crafts space!!! The décor is lovely and homey and cozy. I have a small laundry room too, like yours with my old washer, and the dryer is a little bit younger, lol... They work perfect and my laundry room is packed every inch too. Since I posted it 3 years ago, my old fridge died after 28 years and now I have a small newer one.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the great party sweet lady.
Have a nice week and a blessed Easter ahead.
FABBY
I mean the party later on...hahaha
