My New Coffee Table

I feel like it is Christmas a little early.  My coffee table got here last Saturday and I love it.  I think it is the perfect piece, style and size for my family room.  This is a small room so the 34" size is perfect.  I also love that it has a bottom glass shelf too.  That gives me more room for books and magazines, but still allows the table to fade into the background, I love being able to see the cowhide rug through the glass.

The finish is just the right shade of brass to go with my sconces too.  I know I am going to have tons of fun styling it.  I put a wicker basket and a few books on it for now.  I think this will become a favorite place to play with different vignettes.

Little by little my makeover plans will take shape.  The sofa will be here after Christmas so that will make a big difference too.  Still haven't decided about chairs or what I want to do next to the TV, but so far I am liking it.  The TV table needs to be painted I think.  Not liking the black.  If I go with the charcoal gray recliners, then I think a soft gray wash to really lighten up this piece would look good.

Ok, one step at a time.  I have to wait a bit on the two new recliners.  Some front yard landscaping has climbed to the top of the ladder along with some more landscaping in the backyard.  (The pool side looks wonderful, the other side is a disaster.  Need to clean that up!!!)  Hubby was in the hospital to have some medical tests which cost the price of a small car, so my money tree is looking a little skimpy.  Best news though is they said his heart is one of the strongest things about him.  PRAISE THE LORD.   Being Blessed with a healthy husband is so much better than new furniture any day, so I will just water my money tree and feed it so it can grow.

For now I am enjoying my new coffee table and smile every time I walk in the room.

  1. So glad to hear your hubby's tests came out good. you're so right, about healthy husbands. We need to take good care of them and keep an eye on them because sometimes they put off tests and going to the doctor. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that new round coffee table, Marty. It's gorgeous and just perfect for that space. Your family room is looking fabulous!

  2. Yes, I agree with Debra; first thing it also makes me happy to know the tests came out well, when husbands are healthy all is well with us, very true.
I'm loving brass coffee tables lately and yours is perfect for your lovely room.
I like the two spaces for decoration, I have one like it in wood in the family room and are so versatile for the type who can't leave things well enough alone, like us, lol..
    Enjoy it dear Marty.

  3. Oh, I just love that saying..."water my money tree and feed it so it can grow"! I guess I need to start watering and feeding mine, too! :) I love that coffee table. It does look good with your wall sconces. I agree, however, that the black TV console might be a bit heavy in the room, but knowing you, I'm sure the new color you paint it will be perfect! Have a wonderful week.

  4. Beautiful table Marty, just perfect for your living room! Enjoy!

  5. Good news on your husband. Personally, I like the black TV console. I find it grounding and a nice contrast with the other pieces. The new coffee table is great!

  6. I love the new coffee table, and personally, I think the tv stand is a good size for the room. Your idea to paint it grey is a good one. The room looks really good and I think the wall grouping over the top of the tv is the perfect touch for that wall.

  7. Very pretty, Marty! I love the way you have styled it. I had a glass table up until recently and it really gave the illusion of a larger space. This room is so pretty! And yeah, I know what it is to put off the wants for the needs. It takes patience!

  8. Love the new table. Glad to hear your hubby had good results on his tests.

  9. I just hang on your every word. Will be watching the table and how it changes.
When you change out your display, what do you do with the stuff that was there? I have stuff, and I like my stuff, but then it does need to be changed out. Hope that question made a little sense. Wonder if 'stuff' is the right word??

  10. Marty, the new coffee table is perfect for your space!

  11. I love your table, Marty. I really like a glass table, too. I think it makes a room look a lot more spacious. I don't mind the black table either--but gray would be nice, too. It is fun to see brass coming back a bit, isn't it? I stored some brass things I couldn't quite bear to part with and am glad I kept them now.

Hope you have a great week I am so glad your hubby has a healthy heart. xo Diana

  12. Beautiful Marty. This looks perfect in your pretty living room.

  13. Glad to hear your husband's tests are okay. Love the glass coffee table. It's beginning to look like Marty in there.

  14. First, so glad yours hubs is okay! That can all be a bit scary. The glass coffee table is perfect for the room...actually, all around perfect. Big enough to hold pretties but not too big, and doesn't visually take up lots of real estate. You'll get the color for the TV table the way you put together a room. xoxo

  15. Happy about your hubs. I just found out I have to have an echocardiogram and it isn't cheap. I LOVE your coffee table! It is absolutely perfect for your living space. And I like the idea of your painting the table the TV is on too.

  16. It is beautiful, Marty! Perfect for your room!

  17. You are so right. The most important thing is that hubby is healthy. But the coffee table is gorgeous and the sconces are calling my name. Love those too!

  18. That is a cute table and looks perfect for the room. Glad to know your hubby did well with his tests. It’s always a blessing to have good results and peace of mind.

  19. Prayers to you and your hubby....yes, health has to always be the priority!

BTW...I really like the new coffee table!

Hope you are enjoying the cool is wonderful!

  20. I love your new table, Marty. It is perfect in your living room! Happy Wednesday ~
