Our Desert Blooming Yard

Most people think of the desert and all they think of is Cactus.  Yes, we have a lot of that here but so many beautiful blooming trees and plants too.

This is the Palo Brea tree in our front yard.  Now it is green most of the year and provides fabulous shade, but after losing it's leaves it puts on a flower show that is unreal.

Remember this picture, this is what it looks like most of the year.  Just a really pretty green tree.

The entrance to our subdivision is lined with these trees and it is such a magical view as you enter the area.  (Excuse the garden hose, hubby is doing some cleanup).  The main downside to this tree is the mess when all those flowers drop, but they clean up really well.

This is an over foot tall pile of flowers hubby just blew off the yard.  (They do make a ton of flowers and they can be a real mess if you don't keep after them.)

The backyard is getting some clean up too and getting ready for swimming weather.  Hubby has been putting down tons of mulch around the pool flower beds.

I got my fingers in the way on the iphone.  I think I need a few lessons. haha.

It's hard to believe that it looked like this at this time last year.  They had just done the big dig.

Cleaning off and sprucing up the patio is next.  Time to be outside and have fun.

2018 Spring Tea

Getting together with friends is always my favorite way to spend the day.  Last Saturday my dear friend Liz @ Rose Vignettes  invited my daughter and I to attend her Church Ladies Tea.  This is such an amazing event where each lady hosts a table and they decorate it in their own personal style.
 So Many Amazing Tables.

I love this pic of Liz and her precious mom.  They are both such beautiful ladies inside and out.  Liz and I met through blogging years ago at a blogger lunch.  It is always amazing to me that you can meet someone online and become such good friends.   If you haven't followed her, be sure to check out her Instagram page and see her amazing talent for Bible Journaling.  The detail she adds to her Bible will inspire you.

This is the table that she created.  It was so nice to meet some new friends too.  (That is my daughter on the right)

Liz's table.

There were over 400 ladies at the tee and over 40 tables, so there was tons of eye candy.  Here are a few shots of some of the pretty tables these amazing ladies created.

The men from Church were are servers and they pampered us all making sure we always had everything we needed.

Such a Blessing to be able to share fellowship with the Lord and all these beautiful ladies.

Friday DIY's & Finds

There have been so many fabulous blogs lately that have really captured my attention, so I thought maybe I would share some of the things that have inspired me.

This Farmhouse Bathroom Makeover is stunning.  You really need to see the before and how about those gorgeous apron front sinks.

If you haven't been following the Spring One Room Challenge then you are missing out for sure.
Monica Wants It  is a blog that always inspires me.  She is making over her master bedroom for the Spring ORC.  Just look at this amazing temporary wallpaper and that lamp.  I can't wait to see how the rest of the room comes together.  Check out over 200 participants in the ORC here.

This Laundry Room Renovation is fabulous.  I love it all, be sure to see the before.

I love this Small Patio.  With careful planning they had enough room for a comfortable seating area and a large dining area.  Great tips that I need to put to good use on my patio.

The best sales I found all week were for outdoor furniture and accessories.  I needed some new cushions for the fire pit chairs around the pool and all the major stores have them on sale.  I found these at At Home.  They have an amazing selection of styles and colors to choose from.  They have a huge selection of outdoor furniture too.

I am off on a short weekend trip to Bluff, Utah for the ribbon cutting of my grandson's first Architectural Building he helped design and build.  The surrounding area looks amazing too, so a little sight seeing is on the agenda.

Hope you have a super weekend planned too.
